An Angel in Daddy's Arms

While rummaging through some Christmas decorations I came upon this angel tree topper which has been in my family for nearly 60 years!  Yes, I am admitting that.
In my family the tradition was to put the tree up on Christmas Eve.  My Father worked late and we would wait until he came home to put the angel on the tree.

I would wait in anticipation of the exciting moment when he would sweep me in his arms, hosit me up and let me place the angel on the tree!  It was a magical and exciting time for me.
Just a year before my Mother died I asked her about the angel.  She couldn't recall where she had stored it.  While cleaning out the house I found it behind a dresser drawer where it had gotten lodged.
It's made of cardboard and some kind of material was used for the hair.  The stars
are peeling and the angel wings are tattered, but hey who wouldn't be at this age!
I brought her home, cleaned her up and now she comes out every Christmas, not on the top of the tree because she's too fragile, but lovingly placed in a prominent area.
I look at her and the memories come flooding back of Christmases long ago that were shared with a loving Mother and Father.
I hope you enjoy seeing her, she deserves center stage and worldwide debut.

Oh Sissie...
Good Morning my sweet precious friend. I so love your angel, and it is so fitting that she would have stars. You know I believe that when we pass, and get to heaven, we each hang out a star in the sky for all of our family to see, she has her stars. Her little face just absolutely glows. The color is so good for as old as she is.

I am not sure how tall she is, but it would be wonderful if you had a tall cloche that you could put her in. You could have fluff around her, and maybe get one of those little string of lights that run on a battery, and you could turn the lights on under the cloche where she could just glow with pride. She is so beautiful.

I love pulling my book of memories, from my shelf in my mind, and reading from years gone by. This is a beautiful memory sweet friend. Just beautiful.

Have a beautiful day. Country hugs and much love...Sherry
