Let's Look at Some Old Stuff

Hi blogerettes!  I don't know why I am suddenly interested in old stuff.  Maybe it's because I have finally acquired a taste for all things vintage, lovingly worn and made beautiful with time.

Like these lovely vintage door knob plates...........

Sweet, vintage hammered tray...........
and frogs.....
                                       Old wooden box for treasures....
Wish I could read french because this old Paris atlas is
wonderful!
I love old sewing machine drawers.  I painted these white
and added two ornate pulls......great for storage or
just for looks...

I want to thank everyone for the suggestions and comments about the Anthropologie curtain.  I'm going to live with it for
awhile and see if it stays or goes.  You all had such
helpful comments, and it really helped.

I also have some wonderful gifts that I have received to
blog about and I am still trying to decide what
will be my 300th follower Giveaway!!!!

~~hugs~~

Good Morning Sweetie...
I so adore this post. I am thrilled you are keeping the curtain, it is so beautiful. I love it. It is so YOU.

The sewing machine drawers, oh how I would so love a couple of these. Storage would be beautiful in them for sure. Love it.

Love the tray to, and that Paris atlas, how gorgeous is that? Even if I couldn't read it, I too would just love having it to look at and dream about. Gorgeous...

I pray you have a beautiful day today. I got my tickets yesterday for my trip to Maryland. I sure wish you were close enough to come for the luncheon and tea. It would be so lovely to see you in person. April 16th will be here before you know it.

Love ya girl. Have a good one. COuntry hugs and so much love...Sherry

Good morning Sissie..Love that you've suddenly become interested in old things. The pieces you've shown are great. Especially the door plates. I've collected a few myself, and I'm thinking it's because they remind me of my grandmother's house. She was a seamstress all of her life, and again those sewing machine drawers take me right back to childhood. Blessings and sunshine, Terri

What a find that old french Atlas is! I can't even remember the last time I came across a french book! I'm jealous!! I love old stuff....I grew up in a house filled with all antique heirloom furniture...nothing white and chippy like I'm into now, but I think it got the whole vintage thing started for me!

Have a great Thursday!

Old wooden boxes are just wonderful for keeping little treasures in. I like what you have done with the old sewing machine drawers. They sure make a nice display.

Love the idea of using old drawers for storage in another way, Sissie! I love them white with the handles. I bet they would hold rolls of ribbon well. Hmmm, something to look for next time I hit the thrift store. Thanks for the inspiration!

I like all the pictures above, but I have to say I think my fave is the captains chest. Something mysterious about the sea! Have a wonderful day, Marcia

Hi Sissie,
I think you know I love to collect old stuff and you have some great items! This probably will come as no surprise but I have a collection of door plates (they are all lined up on my studio floor right now because I'm trying to frame them), a collection of wood boxes and a collection of sewing machine drawers.
Thanks for picturing your wonderful old finds.
Jane

Oh Sissie,I am so glad you kept the shower curtain, how could you not, it practically has your name on it. Love the old box and the drawers. The back plates are very interesting they would make a great piece of art framed and done in a grouping. Kathysue

I am a sucker for frou frou. Ruffles are always a plus! I love the shower curtain although it is hard to justify the Anthro prices. Of course that's why I love your blog. So pretty to look at! I also collect those vintage hammered aluminum trays. I have so many now I really need to find someplace for display. (or stop buying more, ha ha)

I wonder if it's our age. Why all of a sudden it seems we've become enthralled with all things vintage or antique. I feel the exact same way. Maybe I'm trying to hold onto a little piece of the people who are no longer with me . . . I don't know. But I'm lovin' it!
Have a great day! Karen

Sissie, I love old things too...there's so much character in a piece that has been around the block a few times and come out looking better than ever.

You just made me think: aha , with those sewing maschine drawers, how beautifull they looks, in white, and the box, I can almost feel how soft the wood is, from years of hands going over it.
Your finds are so wonderfull all, and the way you are displaying them ,always gordius,
Thanks for showing all this eyecandy,

Hello Sissie! I love those vintage sewing machine drawers. I so want to find myself a set of them to use in my sewing room, to keep some of my smaller items in.

I just started my very own blog! OMG!! I was so afraid to do it; I've been following several blogs for a while now, and decided it was about time to do one of my own :) I hope you will get a chance to check it out sometime. I'll mostly be posting pictures of my Ebay & esty items, and things along that line. I have 1 follower so far, so that's pretty cool.

I'll be checking on your blog again soon to see more of your wonderful items you show us! Have a lovely day, warmest, Brenda

i've been the same way. all of a sudden i just can't get enough of anything vintage!

I can solve your mystery on why you all of a sudden like old vintage things. It's because you've been to that famous Calico Consignment Shoppe game show. You and Anita were so cute this morning heading for the shoppe. I saw you jumping up and down....wink from your girl with the curl (alias Jackie Calico)
