Livingroom Fluffing

Hi Bloggerettes!  I need your opinions on my livingroom.

I have show my livingroom many times on my header and side bar. It was looking a little tired to me.  I started thinking about color and pattern to give the room a more cottagey, warm feeling.

So, I brought in the chairs from the bedroom to add a floral punch.
Here's the livingroom before......

And here's the after....

I had to remove some stuff from the bookcase on the left, it didn't look right.  Now, I need more stuff!!

I just can't get enough mercury glass and shells.

I want to know what you think.  Is it too much, too busy?
Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

Maybe it has something to do with the changing of the seasons, but I have been wanting to declutter, move things around and add some new pieces.  Do you get like that too?

You can see the entryway here.  My home is wide open and you can see from one room to the next, so the flow of color is very important.

Okay, time for me to go blog hopping and see all the beautiful, inspiring photos and dream!

~~hugs~~

Sissie, I think it looks better this way, but of course I am drawn to color. I have to have color. I have tried to go more neutral or with less things and it just doesn't work for me. So I love it.

Hi Sissie,
I just adore your floral chairs! Their little skirts are adorable! And your room is accessorized perfectly, not cluttered in the least! Have you thought of adding a large area rug? I think it would really cozy it up for the cooler weather ahead. Placing it beneath the couch, coffee table and your chairs would help anchor things and might give you that warmth that you are after. Love your living room as is, though!

Hi Sussie,

Love it, love it, love it, I just love the way you did the room. Love the chairs the little green table all of it. It's so cozy! Did you paint the green table? If so can I ask the name of the paint you used and would you by any chance know the name of the fabric on your chairs? I'm not much of a yellow person but I love how subtle the yellow is on your couch is. It's a beautiful room.

I think the floral chairs look lovely. I think it's nice to change things up periodically to keep us from getting bored. I also decided to change up and declutter some with the changing of the season. I think sometimes that my rooms are too busy. I don't want people's eyes to get tired when they are in my rooms. Know what I mean?

Your home looks just like you, Sissie. It's so pretty and feminine.

sissie the floral chairs are so pretty and look great in your room. I agree with jane that a few more pops of pink or yellow would be good. Seeing the color in other places makes the chairs belong.

Marty@A Stroll Thru Life said...

Love the chairs. I think they give it a great change. I would go ahead and fill up those shelves. All of your things are just so pretty. To add even more color, I would add a couple of really soft green things to the shelves. Maybe that will make you think the chairs go. How about a couple of plants or even a soft green candle. Just a thought. However, I think it is gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

Sissie - Your home is stunning! I love your living room this way. The chairs you added are great...very sweet and feminine and bring a pop of color in. Very pretty! You have exquisite taste. I keep eyeing your toile pillows and that yellow/gold one on your couch is gorgeous.

Hello from germany - the room is now nearly perfekt - it has more cottagecharme now - but I dont like shells with roses. I think, shells are maritim for an maritim room like a bathroom and the roses are perfekt for cottagestyle - I love roses and have many of it in my garden.
Best regards and I hope you are not angry about my comment

Hello sweet Sissie,
The chairs to die for...now, if you really want color...you could add it on those bookshelves, your mantel, centerpiece floral on table or with window treatments. Just a warning it may be shocking at first. Use cheap items paint a mirror, try candlesticks, a pretty garland across mantel. Use soft colors so they blend. If you don't like it stick it in your booth. Change is fun and so is color! Oh, I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve...
Hugs,
Olivia
