Heart of the Home Party!

Hi Bloggerettes!  I'm joining the Heart of the Home Party at Shelia's Note Songs.  Be sure and stop by her place today and take a peek into all the lovely kitchens.
Our home was custom built in 2005 and has a very open floor plan.  It is located in the center of all the home's activities.  The family room is on one side and a formal livingroom on the other.  The morning room sits ajacent to the kitchen and there are no walls.  Decorating the floor plan hasn't been an easy task.  I think it's still a project in the making.

The cabinets are a creamy white and they are very tall.
The center stovetop cabinet and oven hood were designed to look like a separate piece of furniture.  It's painted a soft yellow.

I love my granite counter tops.

The appliances are stainless steel, which I always wanted and now regret.  They are a pain to keep clean.

I've had Mr. Pig for many years.  His nose has been broken several times, but caulking always fixes him up.  He lost his chalkboard long ago but I still love the little oinker.

I really don't have many vingettes on my kitchen counter. I prefer to keep it pretty basic.

I really like my glass front cabinets.  I've always wanted them, so they were a priority in the design.

This is the coffee center where I head to first thing every morning!

If you get tired of looking at the pictures, I understand!  I did get carried away!

This concludes the tour of my kitchen.  I'm so glad that you stopped by for coffee and chit chat.
Don't forget to go over to Shelia's and check out all the pretty kitchens......the heart of the home.

~~hugs~~

Hi Sissie! I love your kitchen, very soft, warm and welcoming! I'm drawn to the holder you have by the coffee pot, where did you get that? It's always fun to look at how people decorate their spaces and yours is fantastic!

Sissie...Your kitchen is so pretty! I love how that room is such a welcoming place for people to gather. I had a really small kitchen in my last house but now I have a much bigger kitchen, but there is only the 2 of us now. It helps out when the whole family comes on special occasions, though! I just got a stainless steel fridge and you are right, it is a pain to clean but it looks nice! ~Hugs, Patti

Sissy, it is so beautiful! I would love to have a kitchen like that. I think you have to have a really big kitchen to have glass cabinet doors, my cupboards are soooo jammed full, I just have no room. Sissy, I think you live a perfectly charmed life!

It's designer beautiful, Sissie - every single inch and angle. I have to laugh because I have a good sized kitchen, but it's manland in my house...so no glass front cabinets and no vignettes except along the cabinet tops where they won't be in his way.

ROSE VINE COTTAGE said...

Sissie your kitchen is so pretty, I especially love the touch of yellow!! Did you paint the yellow or did the cabinets come in that beautiful color?

Lisa said...

Gorgeous! I love that you used pale yellow in your kitchen. It is so soft and pretty, with just enough contrast.Gorgeous!

Oh Sissie girl, your kitchen is magnificent! My favorite kitchens are the ones where it looks like there is furniture in there instead of stock cabinets. As much as I hate cooking, if I had a kitchen like this, I'd spend all of my time in there!

Beautiful blog! Thank you for visiting mine today, I'm so glad that you did! I love your earlier post of your mirrors. I noticed a pretty pink file cabinet...I plan to paint mine and it never dawned on me that I could replace the plastic handles with fun handles which looks to be the case on yours. I'll be back to read over more of your blog and I'm following yours too!

Hail to the Queen, far from training you are living in your beautiful world. What a beautiful home you have! You are so blessed and it is such a peaceful elegant feel. I call it a respite!

My kitchen is Tuscan with deep orange and golds and soft browns and barn red walls...black furniture and appliances. They are tough to keep clean too!

It seems the longer we blog the more wonderful friends we make and then we all have such a tough time getting around to visit each other. It was a treat to come visit tonight before bed. Night night!
