Feeling a Little Springy???

Hi Bloggerettes!  I don't know about you but everytime I look at a Pottery Barn catalog I want everything in it!!!
So, I thought I would just try and copy a table vingette.  Here's my version.

I picked up a few of the clay pots and the wire basket at Lowe's Home Improvement Store, added a lemon herb and ivy plant.
I had the bird nests already.

After looking at the photos I decided to add some spanish moss, and some more birds, a bird tray and another stick basket with
peeps.......

I had to show off the burlap and ruffled table cover that I made. It's for sale in my etsy shop.

Might not be as put together as a PB table, but I kinda like it and it makes me think of Spring.

Do You Love Vintage Lace????

Hi Bloggerettes!  Tell me something, do you love really, really vintage lace?  Lace that just might have a few years of wear on it, but never-the-less absolutely beautiful?

Well, have I got something for you to feast your eyes on! (squeeeeeeeeeeeeeel !!)  Yep, that's what I did when I saw it!

One of my friends from Miss Minnie's found a huge box of vintage and antique laces at the estate sale of a 95 year old Lady.
She grabbed it up quicker than a waggin dog tail!
And when she walked in the shop with all this
I wresteled her down to the floor. (well maybe not)

Look at the sweet lace collars.....

Ain't this purdy.....a sweet, very tiny, camisole......If you are a size 2, it might fit!  Leaves me out that's for sure.
Look at the work on these tiny little petals....amazing!

I decided to trim one of my pillow creations with this wonderful
lace and couldn't decide which one!
I decided on this one and here's how it turned out......

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sheer ruffles, burlap and vintage lace........it
don't get no better than that!!
It will be in my Etsy Shop soon.

This is part of my workroom. And for some strange reason it turned out with lots of Pink!  This  I never get to use because I'm always so busy in there.  It's a twin sleigh bed that I decided to turn into a daybed by loading it up with tons of pillows.

I like to be surrounded by the things that I love.
Beautiful fabrics, pictures of love ones, cards and gifts sent from you, my blogger friends (smooch, smooch)

Love the old sewing machine drawers, great for ribbons and tags that I have collected or received from you.

Hi  Marsha ! See the
ooh la la sign that you sent me.  I love it~

Hey, Dorthe see my sweet doll angel....oh, how I love her!

Hi Sandy see my lovely box, goes so pretty with
my room.  Hugs to you.

All these pretties were sent to me by a very special blogger friend.
I adore her.  She's the best.  Thank you Sweetie!

I Love My Kitchen

Hi Bloggerettes!  Many of you have asked to see my kitchen, so here it is.  It's not really all that special, but I had a great deal to do with the design.

I chose cream colored cabinets, called the Charleston design.
And the granite has a brown golden tones.
I chose to go with a warm antiqued yellow for the
stovetop.  The builder advised me against it, but I was deadset to breakup all the same color and create a piece that looked like furniture.

Pay no attention to the liquor bar, I never go there. Well,
maybe sometimes.  It all depends on other people's attitudes! LOL!

Well, there you have it.  I usually don't like to
show too much of my house, because it might come off as
bragging.  But, since you asked, I am happy to do so.

The Magic of Grandmom's Attic

Would you Bloggerettes  like to hear a story?  I know, as long as it's short.  Ok, I'll try.

When I was a little girl I used to go to a magical place that was my Grandmom's attic.  It was full of wonderful, enchanting things that would keep a little girl happy and busy for hours.

From the moment I opened the door and walked up the creeky steps, I was mesmerized.  There was a small window at the top of the stairs that allowed sunlight to filter through to clearly see all the treasures that were waiting inside.

There were boxes of books lining the old walls, an old four poster bed that was set up and covered with Grandmom's hat boxes, purses, shoes and old dresses. It was also covered with old quilts, sheets and linens that weren't in use.

There was an old vanity with a cracked fuzzy
mirror  that held old cosmetic jars, perfume bottles and powder puffs.  There were pieces of broken jewelry and snippets of ribbons and bows.  It was a little girl's dream.

I would play for hours in that attic.  I would pretend to be a grown up while dressing up in Grandmom's dresses, high heeled shoes, hats and jewelry.  Smearing on old red lipstick and spritzing on Blue Waltz perfume!  I would sit in front of that fuzzy old mirror thinking that someday I would have a dresser covered with pretty, girlie things.

I would slip off into
a magical
dream
where
everything was good and people were happy.  I was so afraid of war at that age.
I remember asking my Mom why there had to be wars and why people wanted to hurt one another.  I remember making a wish on my sixth birthday cake, that there would be no more wars.

I would play for hours in the attic, never wanting to leave.  But, I would hear my Mom calling that it was time to come downstairs now.  "That floor up there isn't very safe," she said.  "You get down here now, it's time for lunch."

So, after the second call.  I would leave my special place knowing that tomorrow I could go back again.

Where was your secret place when you were a child?

Finally......My 300th Follower Giveaway!

Hi Bloggerettes!  I know it has taken me forever to get together my giveaway, but hey, you know how it is!  That's why I love yall so much. You're an understanding bunch.

Now before I get to the giveaway part, I'm gonna make you suffer through another Sissie Pillow. But, if you don't wanna go through it just scroll on down to the giveaway details.

Just finished this pretty pink one today and it's girly, girly...yes?

I wanted to create an all-white pillow, so I found some really pretty vintage curtain panels, cut off the lace and sewed it onto
white fabric.  The lace is drapey and at least 10" long.
I just couldn't stand leaving it plain, so I added a vintage rhinestone pin.

Now for the GiveAway!

It includes:

One of my burlap Paris Flea Market Pillows

A framed key on burlap in a distressed
frame

A vintage overnight case that you can leave as
is or alter to your liking
The case will be filled with some goodies too,
but I'll keep that a secret for now!

I am late posting this giveaway because as of today
I have 349 followers!  Whew!!

I just cannot express in words how much each and
everyone of you mean to me.  You are all very special
and allowing me into your lives has made mine
complete.  I never, in my wildest imagination
expected to receive such a welcome.
I am so happy to be a part
of the most talented and wonderful
bloggers in the world.

To enter my giveaway, just leave a comment, that's it.

If you feel like posting it on your blog, then that would be nice too and you'll get a second chance to win.

However, you are all winners in my book!

I will announce the winner on April 1st.  No foolin! (just had to say that!)

Pink Saturday

Hi Bloggerettes!  In between painting furniture, making pillows, rearrranging guest room and work room, hunting for things for my booth and getting Mollye's Bunny Swap package together; plus, working on taxes, can make a girl kinda tired. (Whew!)

Anyway, I'm still rarin to go for Pink Saturday, hosted by Beverly
at How Sweet the Sound.  Be sure and go there for some pinkdeliciousness.

I know one thing.....I am ready to put on these.....
Ever wonder what to do with a pretty doilie....
put it on a pillow of course!

How about a birds nest full of eggs.....
um? wonder how that got in there, looks like I'm going to have to eat it....the color is all wrong....oh well.

This egg wreath has nothing to do with pink,
but hey, I like it, ok.

Speaking of spring....I always think about prom time.
Do you remember what your prom dress looked like?
Mine was blue taffeta, not pink.
Wanna tell me about yours????

Photo....Rachael Ashwell's collection

Be sure and check back Sunday for my Giveaway Reveal
It's a secret.

I think you are going to like it!
Now, hop on over to Beverly's and check out the pinks.
