Getting in touch with nature

Hi Bloggerettes!  Saturday was such a pretty day.  Perfect for enjoying the outdoors pulling and clipping grape vines!!! Yep, that's what we did.  Peggie and I spied a patch of vines and decided to make some wreaths, get in touch with nature...you know.

After twisting and turning and hurting fingers, we managed to create some lovely grapevine wreaths.
After forming the vine in a circle and fastening it together, it
was time for the best part.  I added some lace, a little
pink bird and a bird's nest...

And here's the finished wreath...

Pink flowers, lace rosettes and a pink bird....
I'm anxious to see how Peggie decorated hers.  Maybe she will let me show you.

While I'm in a spring mood, I decided to bag up some pretty blue eggs, tie with a ribbon and put them in my booth.

I hope you are seeing signs of spring too.
So, get out there and create, make, sew, bake, redo, refinish or write something wonderful.  Then share it with all of us!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

Hi Sissie,

This wreath is beautiful! Love the pink bird too! I had read somewhere, that if you soak the vines in water first, they are easier to work with. Have a great week sweetie!

Hi Sissie! I love the wreath! That is a pretty damask ribbon on it too and it looks great with the lace. I made grapevine wreaths by cutting the lengths of grapevine and sticking them inside a large garbage barrel that had water in it. The vines would soften and make a nice circle and then you could take it out and tie it up. But that was a long time ago, and now I just go buy them!! Good for you and Peggy to go into the brush and cut out your own grapevines.

Sissie, that is so very pretty. My husband wrapped some vines to make me some wreaths several years ago. Of course he didn't add any pretties.
