Vintage Finds

Hi Bloggerettes!  I've been in the garage most of day painting.  I found some little tables that needed some serious TLC.  I didn't take before pictures because I get so excited to slap that paintbrush on everything I bring home!
This little unusual antique table is the cutest little thing....
I painted it chantilly lace and sanded it heavily to  allow some of the wood to come through.

Still going wild with the paint brush, I painted this little wooden stool...

The big piece I've been working on is this.
We've all seen old 1970's french provencial furniture
in that ugly mustard gold.  I think the furniture graveyards are full of it.  But I loved the lines and the three little drawers in the center.

It took several days to paint this pieces, but it was worth it.
Whenever you paint these pieces white they take on a new life....

It's now in my booth at Miss Minnie's awaiting a new home.
Kinda pretty, ain't she.

I hope you find some wonderful stuff this weekend.  And if you do, remember to show and tell us all about it!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

Wow you really get stuff done Sissie! I have been given the green light to paint my kitchen cabinets...but in all honesty, I am fearful of such a big job and all the work. But then I see you rip off a dresser, and I think, it can be done!

Can't ever get enough shabby white as far as I am concerned either.

Nice work.

What a great little table, Sissie! The detail on it is fantastic! Love the dresser too. I think they are so great as buffets and I hope I can find one when we downsize {the extra storage will be helpful I'm sure}.

That first little table is just darling! You've done a good job on all three pieces. Every time I see the French furniture I consider buying it, but always chicken out.

Hi Sissie! What wonderful pieces you've found and restyled! You do such beautiful work and display things so elegantly! Do you brush paint all of your pieces? I like to paint furniture by hand but it's so time consuming... I just don't know how you do it all! You are an inspiration!
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda

Love that french provincial dresser! Just love it!! Did you seal it with poly? Also, was the top super shiny and slick? If so, how did you prepare it for paint? I have one that I want to paint but I'm not sure if the top with take paint....it's almost like a laminate. Your advice would be most appreciated!! Thanks Sissie!

The ornate table and foot stool were a to die for find! I have done that 70's furniture in white before and you are sooo right it takes on a whole new life, and can usually be bought pretty reasonable...Good thing most people don't have a vision!

That little table is so pretty Sissie! I think your big dresser looks like the one we have in our bedroom, I love it. It also comes with the best story of meeting two of my most loved friends at the garage sale where the husband was selling it :) Because of that big (now) white dresser I became friends that my children think of as their other grandparents! Have a happy weekend! xoxo

Everything you touch turns to beauty! I especially love the stool. I have been looking for an old piano stool for a long time.
Don't ask me why other than I just like them:)

GORGEOUS girl!!!! I love, LOVE that you painted the hardware too Sissie!!! When I had the shop, I discovered that leaving the hardware unpainted made it stick out like a sore thumb ~ and your dresser is gorgeous! I hope you are doing wonderful, hugs and love, Dawn

Sissie, I saw your comment on Teresa's blog about your son having Crohns. My daughter has Crohns, too. She was diagnosed in January and by June had a resection. What an ordeal. If you are on Facebook, consider looking at the Purple Dress Project. It is something my daughter is doing to raise awareness of Crohns.

Just wanted to say hi, and to tell you I enjoyed my visit.

I love the re-do's, you have a way of seeing things beautifully & anyone who doesn't snap that beauty up has missed the creme de la creme. Beautiful!

Love that little chick filled nest, too.

I think I'm headed down your way...well, if I can be "beamed up"! That little carved table is gorgeous and I'm looking for a side table for our living room. I'll have to dream about this one though. What a find, Sissie!!

Hey Sissie,
Love that table, Chantilly lace huh?! I love to mix different colors of white in my house. I just lucked into an amazing breakfront at my thrift. Probably Duncan Fife. I want to paint it but I get so overwhelmed when it's a big piece. Your french provincial piece is awesome, even mustard yellow they are expensive here.
Have a great weekend sweetie!
