Time for a Change!

Hi Bloggerettes!  I'm feeling mighty proud of myself today!  I just finished my entryway bombay chest and it's looking really good!  Now, I'm not one to brag, but today I am!

Here's what it looked like before....
Pretty, but outdated.  Time for a change.
Step one.....paint it

Next, I applied antiquing glaze.....

Looking better....don't you think?
Now, the fun part.....
I found these shutters at the auction.  $5.00!!! (score)!
Painted them white, dry brushed on the gray and sanded....

Ta Da!!!!
Found this metal wire cloche at Tuesday Mornings.

I even found some time to make some pillows....getouttahere!!!!

Okay, get out there and create, paint, craft, repurpose,
thrift, find and do something beautiful for yourself, then share it with all of us!!!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

I love seeing this Sissie! I have a console table that has the same pattern and colour on it. I have not been too fond of it and now that i see you can paint it I'm thinking i will!! Thanks for the inspiration! I never would have dreamed of painting this piece! Blogging has opened up my creative world!

It turned out beautifully, Sissie! Love the glaze you added and the shutters are a great touch! Makes me more eager to get to my little dresser. Waiting on the hubby, though, because he is going to cut the wood for me for the area where the missing drawers were.

Getouttahere...LOL! That's great, Sissie! I love the color and treatment you used on the Bombay chest. You have the gift of layering and love the wire cloche. You just never know what you'll find at Tuesday Morning. You did a great job on the glaze... it doesn't look muddy. That's hard to do.

Hope you have a great week!

Sissie,

The chest looks FABULOUS! It's just wonderful with the mirror on top, and i love the tone on tone of all the similar colors... the whole thing just sparkles. That was brave, because the chest was so pretty to start with, but it was definitely the right decision to paint it!

OMGosh Sissie, I don't know if I would have been brave enough to paint that gorgeous piece. I sure am glad you were cuz it came out STUNNING!
You did such an incredible job glazing it, you're gonna have to give me some pointers. The shape on those shutters are to die for, what a great find for only $5. Listen, you need to go over to Kathleen's blog at Faded Charm and add your beautiful vignette to her White Wednesday par-tay. It is just the perfect thing to show off there.

Irma

It came out incredible Sissie! The glazing is the scariest part for me...but it looks like it was a no brainer on your end and it makes the bombe chest just marvelous!! Your mirror and shutter topping is perfect.

Sissie, I love it! What a great job! You are not going to believe what I made today???? My very first pocket pillows!! How weird is that. Yours are beautiful, I just ran out of pillows in my booth. They are not a great seller, but they sell and I like the way they add to the booth, the problem is I can't price them very high if I want them to sell, $18 is probably top dollar.
