Finished Projects!

Hi Bloggerettes!  I've finally finished the table and I'm happy with it for now.  Who knows if I'll still like it next week!  I first painted it
with Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace in a satin finish.   It took three coats.  Next I waxed it with just plain old Minwax finishing paste, then used an antiquing glaze that I mixed with some french gray paint.  Following that, I dry brushed it all over with some more of the chantilly.

This is the result...
One of these days I'm going to jump on the chalk paint bandwagon!
The small shutters are the fronts off of medicine cabinets found at Habitat Restore....
I'm still playing around with the vingettes.  I'm not sure what I want.
This table is behind the livingroom sofa.  It was a bright manufactured white.  So, I gave it a similar treatment...

I found this strange plate rack with a plate holder in the center.  Not sure what to do with it.  It's going to the booth, so someone else can figure it out!

Gizzie and the gang had a lazy Sunday, how bout you?
Okay, you know the drill.  Get out there and create, paint, repurpose, build, find, sew, write, cook and craft yourself something beautiful.
When you are done, be sure and share it with all of us.

~~big hugs~~
Sissie

What a fantastic table, Sissie! I love the shape to it! It looks great. What an unusual plate rack - I love it! I'm going to be trying that chalk paint soon myself. Still waiting on it to arrive and I'm very eager to try it out on my thrift store headboard.

Love those shutters! I like your vignette right now - wouldn't change a thing! Wish I had a Restore near me. I think there is one near my sister so next time I pop over to my mom's, I'll have to stop in!

Love, love, love the soft white finish with just a hint of gray! The little carved out top in the shutters makes them extra special. I want them!

Your tables turned out great Sissie! That is a different plate rack I wonder what it's for too. With the exception of dinner, my Sunday was much like Gizzie's:@)

The paint treatments look great, Sissie. I love the style of that first table. I have trouble with vignettes, too. I place things and then start over and over and over. Thanks for joining my party this week.

Sissie you get more done in an hour than I get done in a week I swear. Your tables turned out beautifully. Thank you so much for telling us how you did this. I have two pieces that I have got to get painted. Uh...how would you like to make a trip to Idaho?????

That table came out fantastic Sissie! No need for changing your mind on that one. I also think the shutters are great. So many things you could do with those...You could stick a potted ivy plant in the center of the plate rack thing...

Love the tables. I am inspired but must find some time to get at the pieces of furniture waiting for some attention right here in our livingroom.

Sissie, I think it is perfect! I just can't get on the chalk band wagon when I am doing stuff for resale. It's hard to justify the cost. I could justify it is it was for something in my home. I like the medicine cabinet shutters

This piece is really beautiful! What are those three (serving) spoons? Silver plated? Are they for sale? Seen any good hotel water pitchers lately?

Hi Sissie,

Thanks for visiting me today:-).

I love the lines of that table and you did a wonderful job. I know that chalk paint seems to be all the rage these days with bloggers, but I still love good ol' Ben Moore and also milk paint.

Janet

What a nice color you ended up with. Very pretty... and the soft gray really complements and balances the sofa color. The medicine cabinet doors are so clever, love them grouped in threes like that.
