Making Chalkboards...

Chalkboard fun!

They are east to make.  Just find some old frames at the thrift store, paint them and add chalk paint.  I used the brush on type.  It's messy, but the results are worth it.

I've been a blog slug lately with not much to show and talk about.

I'll be meeting with my sister and brother this weekend and we are going to Shop. Eat. Laugh. Repeat!

We are going to the Raleigh Flea Market and hopefully will find some treasures.  Then.....I'll have something to blog about!
~~hugs~~
Sissie

I like doing chalkboards but I usually use the spray. I just find it easier. I already make enough of a mess so spray is better for me.

You are so smart Miss Sissie.
What a great, manageable idea!
Plus the chalkboards are the right size.
I don't need a huge one- yours are great.

Oh, can't wait to see your new treasures! I love your chalkboards. I am going to have to try the brush on chalkboard paint, it took a lot of coats with the spray,

Beautiful chalkboards Sissie. I think I'm going to make one. The more I see them the more I want one. Am I impressionable or copycat? lol.

Love 'em, Sissie! Gotta find great frames like you do. They seem to have such plain ones at the GW here. I keep looking though! : ) Have fun!

Well you know how much I love chalkboards, Sissie, and yours are great! I've had mixed luck with the brush on kind of chalkboard paint, though. I found out the hard way that using a roller is not the best way to apply the paint! It creates little air bubbles that pop, then show up when the paint dries! ugh! Have a great weekend!

So sounds like the paint on chalkboard paint is better? I always wondered. I always use the spray--because it is so easy.
