Movin On.....

"Country roads....take me home
to the place I belong....
West Virginia, mountain mama
take me home country roads....

Yep, after nine years of living on the North Carolina Coast, we have finally sold our home and we are moving back to West Virginia.

Here's what it looks like around here right now...

I have mixed emotions about leaving here.  We custom built our beautiful house and I've enjoyed decorating it, blogging about it
and making it a home for the last eight years. The time has come to move on to the next chapter of our lives. We are leaving behind many fond memories, many friends and embarking upon a new adventure.

In the poem..."The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost, he says for every road we take, there's a road we didn't take.  Wrong turn or not, the roads we take can end up making significant changes in our lives.  And we'll always wonder about the roads that we didn't try.
I can now say that I took that unknown road and I'm glad that I did.
So many wonderful things have happened along the way.

The choice that we made has made all the difference in our lives.
For me it was becoming a part of Miss Minnie's Antiques where I was  able to express and release my artistic and creative abilities.   Also where I was accepted and given the chance to prove that I could be a part of a wonderful shop with special owners and dealers.  Thank you Dianne for having faith in me and for giving me the chance to be a part of Miss Minnies.

I'm up to my eyeballs in boxes and wrapping paper and the clock is ticking away with an expected move date of September 10.

One thing that will always remain will be my blog.  So don't think I'm leaving you. I'll just be jumping back and forth checking on everyone and occassionally posting what's happening.  In due time all will be back to normal and I'll be telling you about our new home.

In the meantime get out there and create, make, cook, sew, write, photograph, repurpose and find something wonderful and share it with us.

                                        ~~great big giant hugs~~
                                                  Sissie

What an exciting new adventure! I hope everything goes really well for you. Good luck with the moving. I am very glad you will keep blogging. :)

Now I have to go find my John Denver CD--you made me want to listen to it :)

Congratulations, Sissie! I know how happy you must be that your house sold. I also know what it is like to have boxes surrounding you! I can't believe we will be in our new place for a year at the end of September. Funny side note ~ my hubby is in W. Virginia on business today. It's about 4 hours from us but it is part of his district, so he goes every month or two.

Congratulations, Sissie- I am proud of you for following your heart. Those types of moves are not always the easiest ones to take...but they are so worth it in the end. How long did it take your house to sell in this market? I'll bet the new owner is completely smitten. God bless you in the move and I can't wait to see where you settle- xo Diana

Sissie, I'm so glad your beautiful home sold and you can get back to WV. I have moved so often that the sight of boxes in a room represents two things for me; a lot of work and a new beginning. All the best to you and we look forward to hearing all about your new life.

Blessings and hugs,
Sandi

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you move to your new home. I'm sure it won't be long before you have your new cottage looking "just so". I can't wait to see!
