Blogging Blahs....

There are days when I feel like this little ole blog of mine is ready to take a dive right into the recycle bin.  I feel more and more as though it takes a back seat to other things and that it just doesn't have the presence it once had.  Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's because my life has been topsy turvy for the last year.....um.... not sure.  Oh well, I'm hoping to get my blogging mojo back.  Do you ever feel this way about your blog???? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

In the meantime I want to show you this piece that I found at an estate sale.  It was dark brown with pieces of the veneer peeling, but it had potential. It's far from perfect, but hey it's old.  A little sanding, some American Paint Chalk Paint and some wax....much better.
I think it's some kind of a server.  Does anyone know.

I'm lovin my new Dash and Albert rug for the back porch.  Gabby likes it too.

Created this burlap and vintage fabric pillow this morning.  It turned out nice.  I didn't mean to leave the tag so visible....see what I mean about losing my blogging mojo....
Okay, I've whinned enough.  I'm off to look at your blogs for some much needed inspiration.

                                            ~~hugs~~

I feel that way so often and sometimes go a month without blogging. I think there comes a point where you feel like you've said it all or seen it all. I can't even imagine how some ladies blog everyday. That's too much stress, but then I work full time, have a home, yard, and chickens to take care of, and blogging just isn't on the everyday agenda. Most of the time, I don't feel like anyone even bothers to read my posts, so more and more, I'm trying to blog for myself, kind of like a journal I'm keeping of my life, so the years just don't slip away without notice. I have found that my blogging mojo comes back, but it has never come back to the level of my first few years.

I think everybody goes through spurts of not feeling like blogging or crafting. I know when it was too hot out, I didn't feel like doing anything. Then when allergies hit, same thing. I only post a few times a week now - even though the kids are back in school.

Oh, I love that table. It does look like a server of some sort. It would be a real addition to a large dinner party. "Hi Gabby, you gorgeous girl."

Sissie, your life has been a roller coaster. Blogging is something you do when you have time to fill. You don't have any time, much less time to fill. When your life calms down. I am sure your mojo will come back. I love to see you popping in from time to time! I can't wait to see more of your house. That rug is fabulous!!

Oh goodness yes! I feel like quitting all the time! But I get enjoyment out of it, so I keep on blogging. Love your pillow and the little table is so pretty! Hang in there! You've had a busy year!!

Hi Sissie, well I post about once a month which is I know hardly anything compared to some ladies.. but hey, it's my blog and it's about all I can manage. I don't want to be stressed about what to blog about every day, I wouldn't have the time anyway. I think we all realise that everyone's situation is different, so whether we blog a little or a lot it should be enjoyable even for the blogger. love your pillow! take care, Maryann

LOL- You will bounce bay, Sissie. Don't you think it is because of all you have going on this past year? You are so talented and I love to see what you have done. It keeps ME motivated. I have an idea...why don't you have a giveaway and put dear sweet Gabby up for grabs. Put my name in the box about 100 times to ensure that I win, okay?;>)

I am not sure what the piece is, Sissie. I have never seen one like it- xo Diana

Hi Sissie. I know what you mean about blogging...I have announced on mine that I am taking a break. I feel lately that if I blog too much, I have no time to do anything else creative and then therefore have nothing of interest to even blog about. I sometimes wonder if anyone reads my blog at all, except for a few people. I love reading your blog. Take a little break or post less and don't feel guilty about it. P.S. Your new home is gorgeous! Love your new pillow, Sissie! That table does look like it would be a server, but I don't know 100% if that is what it would be called. I just bought a small round side table that looks like it has a veneer top that is crackling. Did the sanding help with yours? I have to figure out how to deal with that before I start painting.

Sissie, you've really had a busy and stressful year, so this is normal. And blogging always needs to take a back seat to "life" and family. So enjoy your time with your new home, and don't feel like you have expectations to live up to. We all love coming to visit no matter how much you post! big hugs!

We all go through those times when blogging takes a back seat to other things in our lives.
Maybe after some time, you will be so full of ideas, you will feel like blogging again.
Whatever, and whenever you blog, you will always have people out here anxious to see what you are up to, Sissie.
Smooches.

Sissie, I am in the middle of Blogging Blues myself! Since selling our home and moving in with dad I struggle for things to blog about. I am hoping when we find a new home I will be more motivated. Love the new rug and pillow.

Oh please do not throw your blog into the recycle bin--I always enjoy your posts! When you make that little comment "Go out and create something.." I take it to heart. It is like you are a cheerleader for being creative :) Love that new rug you got--awesome color. Really cute new pictures of Gizzy and Gabby on the sidebar too. :)

You're certainly not alone in how you are feeling, Sissie. You have had an incredibly busy year!
This past year has been hard on me with my back problems. A few months ago, I almost took an extended blogging break because I was feeling worn out.

I love your server! I just bought a beautiful curvy dark wooden table from my SIL for fifteen dolars. The veneer is chipping away too. I plan to strip it and paint it white. After seeing your server, I can't wait to get mine finished. Yours is beautiful!

Thanks for keeping up your blog even in the middle of all your busyness. We really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. You are such an inspiration to all of us gals. Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings and hugs,
Sandi

I so understand your feelings. I think about quitting my blog at least once a week. Now that it's my "job" I feel a pressure that I didn't feel before. And let's face it...it takes so much time. I hope you keep at it though because yours is one of my favorites. Maybe just take a break?

I haven't blogged since the middle of May...still don't miss it. I think that I had better start or just shut the darn thing down!

You are definitely not the only one. I retired in January, and it seems like I am busier than ever. Whoa!

I enjoyed seeing your booth in your last post. You have so many lovely things.

I'm truly thinking it's time for me to close up my bloggie. I think I've shared all I can and know. I think things just change and sometimes things we were once passionate about just aren't, well, that big of a draw anymore.

For me it's just time. Five years is enough to sit behind a computer and type my thoughts...

You'll know what to do when the time comes. :) That's what my gramma always said.

Love you girl~

You are not alone with your blogging blahs, Sissie, I am right there with you! You've had such a busy year no wonder you are feeling burnt out. For me, I so often feel as if no one but a handful of people even read my posts. I just wrote one after a three week break, maybe I should have taken a longer break, haha!! Love all of your work, don't sweat it, just post when you feel like it!!

Hi...Thanks for stopping by! The gift shop where I sell my hand painted items just got a similar table in under consignment - she said it was a tea table. The tray with teapot, sugar and creamer went on top and the sides were for your teacups - it went in front of a couch!
As for blogging burnout, we all get it and i suggest just posting when you feel like it - we will all keep checking back :-) There are som eweeks I could post twice a day and then some weeks I force myself to come up with something - crazy, huh?

I totally get the blogging mojo thing. I think it just comes and goes. There are so many other distractions out there. Pinterest keeps me distracted alot. Cute table, you brought it back to life!

I am moving to a riverfront cottage and am trying to decorate it from over three thousand miles away! Apparently the walls are chalk white, an old Ralph Lauren line. I plan to paint a curio cabinet and two round end tables white. Am having them done professionally because of time constraints. The sofa is a white IKEA. Hideabed. Would a stark white be better..or a warm white for the furniture? I haven't a clue! I can only access Pittsburgh paint and Pratt and Lambert. The floor is pine.
Any help would be so much appreciated!
