Are you caught up in the Decorating Blog Overload????

I think I just might be caught in a decorating style dilemma and it's All. Your. Fault!  When I read your blogs I always fall in love with your decorating styles.  On one blog I see Shabby Chic, another French Country, then Farmhouse style, then Nordic, Coastal, Glam, Eclectic....and more!  Makes my head spin!  Which way do I go.  I can't have it all!!!

So, if you look around my house you will see the results of "decorating blog overload."

I'm seeing gold making a comeback, so now there is more gold in my home. (which is something I never thought I'd do).

Step into a corner of the great room and you'll find a touch of Coastal style combined with traditional...

A stack of vintage suitcases in the corner of the great room.
A Little Country French style in the kitchen eating area....

There you have it....decorating blog overload!
I suppose the moral of the story is to decorate with what you love and if others influence your style then take a little here and a little there.
Just remember if you love it, it will work.

How about you.  Are you caught up in the Decorating Blog Overload and if so, what is your story????

~~hugs~~

What a cute post, and I'll say one thing - your style may be a mix of many styles, but you have a unique flair of your own, which I love.

I'm pretty much transitional in style, which is a blend of traditional and modern, but I love my vintage finds in the mix.

I tend to stick with the same basics and work around what I love. Your home is very inviting and has much Carolina charm.

I've always thought everyone should just decorate with what they like themselves. After all, they are the ones who have to live with it - right? So, go for it! LOL

Found you through Donna, I use to have that, now I'm back to my roots and strictly adhere to cottage style. Oh I might throw in a french piece or two. But that's as far as I stray. i do love gold and so happy it is back!

Your home is just beautiful, Sissie, and I am positive that your lovely style has influenced many of our fellow bloggers:) When I see gorgeous mirrors, I think of your amazing collection! And I love your theory of using what you love, that it will always work if you truly love something!!

Yes---because now I want to go by a farmhouse, and a house I can decorate in nordic style and a barn to turn into prairie style :)))) My house only has so much square footage and I can't seem to stretch it out any further :) I'm right there with you Sissie!

I do not get overloaded by all the different styles but I can see how one would. I am grounded in the blend of coastal and nordic living for our cottage. Even my wardrobe reflects this style. I do not think I will ever go in a different direction because the calm whites and seawashed greys truly are my heart...and my home is where my heart is. Your home is beautiful. There is nothing wrong with blending bits of the different styles that you like. But I am not one to follow the advice of designers. Our home is our sanctuary. xxo

Whatever you want to call it, it's gorgeous! I like some parts of many styles, and I'm afraid, sometimes I think of my house as a thrift shop, I've bought so much from them!! I think whatever we like is what we should use in our homes.

I'm with you, there are so many design styles that I love , too.But they all seem to have something old,or re-purposed, so that seems to be my style, OLD! lol Whatever the style, if we love it, it works and yours works sooo beautifully! Happy 4th!
