Embroidered European Linen Pillows

Thanks to all of you bloggers who commented on my last post, "Why do we blog?"  Your comments were amazing and touched my heart....which is proof (nuff said) as to why we blog.  Thank you all so much.

I know that many of you love antique linens and probably have a stash or two.  I am guilty of having a closet full, baskets full and more!  The European linens are the loveliest of all, but are rare and costly.  These lovely embroidered pillows are among my favorites.

They look as though they were found in a little Belgium shop or a Parisian brocante.
I'll let you in on a little secret.  These are from Jeanne d'Arc Living.  And just a "click" away.

This is a wall space in my laundry room that needed a little something.  So I did this...

That's all I have for today.  I hope that you have a lovely weekend of antiquing, thrifting, creating, photographing, writing, painting....whatever your heart's desire.  Just be sure that whatever it is to share it with all of us!!!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

Hi Sissie and thanks for stopping by my blog today. I see you're in one of my favorite NC places - we love stopping by there when at the coast for some good Calabash-style shrimp!

Your blog and home are lovely and it's great to see you offer Jeanne d'Arc Living clothing. I adore that publication and have a small collection, including earlier ones in Danish before they were printed in English! I've traveled in France where I have family so have managed to acquire some authentic French linens - I love shopping the French brocantes and will have a chance to visit again later this year.

Your post on blogging brought some insightful comments, all of which I agree with. It has changed a lot since I started back in 2007. I have met many bloggers in person all around the world and they have always been amazing times. Some I've managed to keep up with for many years, a few have dropped off the radar and have gone on to FaceBook. I don't have time for any other social media, my photos, editing, and travel and other stories take a lot of time and energy. I have absolutely no advertising! My posts, which I try to do several times a week, are my creative outlet and I love sharing the places I visit with others who may, for one reason or another, not have a chance to actually visit in person.

I'll be stopping by here again and hope you will continue to visit - I'm not doing quite as much decorating as I used to, BUT once this darned hot weather leaves town I may get inspired and be out at the thrift shops again looking for lovely linens, pretty things and pots of paint!

Take care - stay cool.
Hugs - Mary

The pillows are lovely. And I can only imagine how pretty the stitching must be in person. It is difficult to capture how beautiful JDL linens whether it be pillows or clothing are. You did a wonderful job on the sign. Everything is so pretty.

Beautiful pillows! I can just see them on my bed - with two dogs and two cats fighting over who gets to use them!

Love the pillow, and as for your shop the JDA living style is divine.
I wear a lot of linen, and growing up with a designer and fashion designs with a mother who designs and had sewn many of thses styles before they were the big trend was a great perk to being her daughter and set in fashion.

The pillow is fabulous, and with so many likes and style designs it's so hard to stay on one direction when it comes to pretty linens.
I have been sewing these days simple faded slip cover shams, a fun change from more laboring art pieces.

Your shop again is amazing, I stumbled across it while searching old issues of JDL a.

See you soon,

Xx
