Around the House

Hi Bloggerettes!
My crape myrtles are in bloom.....

I've changed up the diningroom side table again!  This time with bigger shutters, shabbier and cream colored...somebody stop me!!!

Some of you might remember a post I did about a year ago about my Anthropologies shower curtain.  It cost exactly one arm and one leg, but it didn't stop me from bringing it home.
I never liked how it looked as its intended purpose so.....
It's now a cover for my bedside table and I'm kinda likin it, for now.
Never know if I will like it tomorrow or not.
I once painted a room red and it lasted for one day!!!
Now don't act like you never do anything like that....

Okay that's it.  Get out there and create, paint, find, sew, photograph, cook or repurpose something wonderful and share it with the rest of us!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

  18. You totally made me laugh, and yes, i have painted a whole bedroom, and then painted it again. That particular bedroom probably has at least 6 different coats of paint on the wall... choosing a wall color makes me completely crazy!
and honey, i wouldn't Stop You", I'd be in the thick of it With You, changing and moving things around!

  19. Sissie- I love your crape mrytles! We are too far North for them to survive..but I love them when I visit the Southern states.

I love that shower curtain turned table covering too. I suppose it was just TOO MUCH as a shower curtain? Love it anyway. Which arm and leg did you have to sacrifice?;>) xo Diana

  26. As far as I'm concerned everything has more than one purpose , and if you can think of a new and different way to use it , more power to you ! I like the shower curtain as a table cover , what's not to like about ruffles ?
I once painted my kitchen school bus yellow , that only lasted one day too. Have a good week !

  32. I have to admit I've done both...paid an arm and a leg and painted something (in my case bright aqua) and thought what was I thinking and promptly repainted it. Kind of like a bad hair cut, thank goodness hair grows out. Your blog is beautiful. I'm your newest follower.

  41. Hi Sissie Sweet,
Where to begin? Everything is soooo pretty and you are such a clever gal to turn the shower curtain into a scrumptious bedside table skirt....it looks heavenly!

  43. Sissie, I love your style! The shutters are fabulous and I too had a big crush on the anthro shower curtain but I did not splurge.....It is absolutely georgous as a bedside table cover! Thanks for answering my chair question. I knew the chair was old, but now it will house a lady taking off her boots! Hugs!

  44. Yep, you're right - I've been known to paint a room one color today and another color tomorrow. My dad always said it's a woman's preogative to change her mind :) I'm especially glad to see your shutters - I have a new (very old) set and have been pondering what color to use for paint - love what you did, so you've inspired me! Thanks.

  45. Sissie everything looks so pretty. I love the shower curtain turned tablecloth, gorgeous!

  46. I like it as a table cloth. The only thing I might do is find a topper that is a little closer in color, but if that never happens it still works. LOVE the pink flowers on the table.

Love your shutters, and that is an idea I may have to borrow. I bought some shutters last year, but they are in my attic because I have no idea what to do with them now. Gotta find a place to put them someday. Then again, gotta find the shutters in the attic now too!

And no, you aren't crazy about the red paint. We painted my bedroom 3 times in less than a year to get the color it is now. If you are crazy, than I'd be too, and I try to at least pretend I'm sane!

  47. Hi Sissie:
It's always fun visiting here and getting a peek inside your gorgeous home! Love those shutters!!! I can never find shorter ones like that. I have a huge one in my "to finish" pile but it would look crazy on a dining room buffet! Have a great 4th of July weekend!

  48. Creative souls aren't meant to stop! It's whowe are, it's what defines us and sets us apart from the rest! Yes?!

Your ruffled cloth looks as though it was made to fit your bedside table, all flowing romantically! It's so you!

Thanks for stopping in to see me...I won't be parting with my new Paris creation just yet, but once I've built a humble collection I'll list them.

  49. That shower curtain looks so wonderful at your bedside Sissie!! Funny too...we recognized it and wondered "could that be...."!! We just ordered that for mom's bathroom...for the shower (but we WILL NOT show her what you did, or she'll have us buying another - she's SUCH a RUFFLE person!)
    Have a great 4th Sissie!!
