Auction Goodies!

Hi Bloggerettes!  I'm sure everyone had a fun and busy weekend.  I went to auction on Friday night and scored this great french chest.  It was already painted a green.  So, to save myself some work, I painted the top white to match the hardware, then added antiquing glaze and sanded.

I would really like to add crystal handles but they can be costly.
It's going to my booth, so maybe the new owner will add some.

I gave this rather plain oak chair a new seat of green and blue toile fabric.

Okay, that's it.  Get out there and create, make, sew, cook, photograph, repurpose or find something wonderful and share it with all of us!

~~hugs~~
Sissie

  1. What a pretty color of green! That was luck, wasn't it? And the white top just made it. I love the toile in the chair seat, too.

I haven't had time to even think about projects this summer. And it's all been work. No fun. Bleah.

  2. I can't believe it, Sissie! Your dresser looks almost like mine! Except for the shapely drawers {the one mine had is just straight}, the top and legs and even that side detail looks the same. I wonder if mine had such pretty hardware. It's a very pretty piece and I like the addition of the white.

  5. love the green chest! painting the top white was the perfect compliment! I removed all the french metal handles from a chest and nightstand that I purchased last year and added the clear glass handles... Fortunately, I'd accumulated the handles over time so it didn't seem to cost too much...

Love the tile chair see too... just beautiful!

  18. Sissie- I absolutely LOVE that chest and I think the white top is perfect on it! And,actually, the handles look pretty nice on it! You see that toille chair you have? Well, I bought about 7-1/2 yards of that- all the stores had and looked high and low to find another 2-1/2 yards for a project...to no avail. Don't you just love that material? It just struck a chord with me! LOVE it! It's perfect on that chair! xo Diana

  20. It looks great! What a score on the dresser being such a pretty color already. I know what you mean about the knobs. You always have to increase the price and I'm not sure customers always consider that, how much you spent on new hardware.
Love your table in the previous post too, and your beach gals! have a great week!

  24. The chest and chair are both perfect Sissie! I am in love with crystal pulls and knobs too and have used vintage ones on my kitchen cupboards but I have also used reproductions from Hobby Lobby that I love. I buy them when all of their knobs are 50% off and that takes them to about 3. or less. Ofcourse that still adds up when you are putting 6 on a dresser and selling it in your booth, but I thought I would pass it on...
Have a fabulous week creating beauty! t. xoxoxoox
