Sissie's Shabby Seashells.......

I love seashells.  And now that I live in the coastal Carolinas I am free to decorate to my hearts content with seashells.

More shells..................

Shell table with cloche and nautica shell

Gizzard blends in nicely with the decor....

I love shells, don't you?  Tell me how you decorate using shells or, if you use them at all......

If you want to see lovely, soft, white and dreamy decor go visit this beautiful blog that I discovered not too long ago.  French Larkspur
is where you find beautiful rooms and lovely posts, stories and photos.  If you go visit, tell her Sissy sent you.

I love your shabby cottage look. I love seashells and have a bowl of our latest finds in our bathroom. I keep thinking one of these days I'll have a cottage all white and blue and beach inspired.

As for your seashells, they are truly beautiful!! I love anything under a cloche, but I never thought to put a lovely white seashell...perfect! And the frames in your first photo are right up my alley too!!

Gizzard is so CUTE!! I like the frame within a frame. That may be what I need to do on the wall where our bed is . . . need to go hunting for some frames!

I too decorate with seashells. We have a beach theme going on in one of our bathrooms :)

I really like your decorating style, Sissie!

Hugs,
Marsha

I love the white ornate frames, one inside the other with a sand dollar in the middle. My grandmother loved collecting shells and we foudn 5 5 gallon buckets full of shells when we cleanedd out their attic. I have a had such a great time finding homes for them. This is a gorgeous post.

Your home looks so lovely...I love the shells you have used. My decor doesn't lend itself to using shells but I do love the look.

Sissie,
Your home is just amazing, I love the coolness of it with all of the glass & white. How did you ever find a sand dollar that looks like a heart? It's wonderful! The shell table is my fav. Lisa

Here's my question: If I take some old gilded frames that I no longer use and paint them white, will they look as beautiful as your frames in photo 1? Did you paint them? Pray tell. Share the secrets....

Sissie's Shabby Seashells, say that 5 times fast ;) I can barely say it once! Anyhoo, beautiful shell displays, Sissie. When I was young, single, and poor seashells were an inexpensive (free) way to display beauty beyond belief. Now that I'm older, married and not poor I still adore seashells. In fact, I had a seashell rimmed rosegarden at our last house. DH tended the roses and I place seashells all around the rim of it. Love. One time I was walking on the beach at Coronado and picked up 3 silver dollar shells. I was happier than if I'd won the Lottery. Still have those shells.

Mary

Wow, how beautiful! You showed me what to do with the three sand dollars I've been saving. Each of us, me, my husband, and my son, found and kept a sand dollar when we were shelling in Charleston. (My daughter was more interested in smashing hers. :( I am going to mount them on the wall and hang a frame around them. Brilliant!

I LOVE that shell table. Did you make it?
