Wonderful Finds!!!

Hi Bloggerettes!  It's about time she put up a new post....yea, I hear you saying that.  Well, here it is.  I'm going to show you all my lucious, mouth watering thrifting and auction finds.

Look at this vintage bed jacket in the sweetest color of pink.  Look at the satin ribbon tie.  If you ain't jealous, then you ain't breathin!

Off to the church sale I went!  I was finding so much stuff that I started a stack over by the check out desk.  I said to the man in charge, "Please kind sir, will you watch my things for me while I look around some more?"   "Well sure honey, I'd be happy to."
I gave him my sweet smile and off I went.

Found these lovely laces and collar inside a dirty box...

Check out the monogrammed linen napkins.  There are five
of them and they are scrumptous!  Not my initials, but I don't care.

I loved this linen piece more when I saw the tag sewn inside with the name of the person who made it.

Now, I go back to the table where the nice man is watching my treasures....."Oh no!" I said to the $%*)$#!@, man.  "Where's my stuff?" I asked.  "Oh no!" he said.  "Someone must have taken it."
"Well, how did that happen?" I said.
"Don't know lady." said the  @#$%*! man.
I wanted to strangle him right then and there for his uncaring attitude!  Oh well, I hope who ever grabbed my stuff is happy with  my pickins.

Okay, after my ruffled feathers settled down, I went on to my next destination....the auction.  I ended up with these wonderful
teacups!  There were no saucers but they were too pretty to leave behind.

There were two little Johnson Bros. saucers and actually they mix pretty well with a few of the teacup patterns.

How about this lovely rose lithograph...

Now for the Piece de resistance'......this wonderful
reproduction of a victorian atrium that I found at
Home Goods.  Not sure how to decorate it and I'll do it later...
I couldn't wait to show it to you.

Whew, this post was really long.  That's what happens when I go
two days without a new one.....I'm so glad that you stayed with me.
You all are so sweet that way.
                                               ~~hugs~~

My sweet mother wore pretty bed jackets so I have a real weakness for them. I love your pink one!

And I am mad with you about that @#*& man who let your treasures go to someone who didn't even have to dig for them. That's was some easy shopping! NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Lovin' the atrium - I would love to have one!

I LOVE your sweet bed jacket! My Mum always wore them too. Love the teacups; especially the pink and gold one and I LOVE the Victorian atrium! You did well for your sweet self other than that clerk not keeping his eye out for your treasures! I'm sure you'll find something beautiful that will make you forget all about them. Thanks for sharing and have a super evening.

Blessings,
Sandi

Wow Sissie, I don't know where to start! First off I woulda taken a swing at that @#$%^ Man! Ha! Just kidding of course, but that serves as a good warning to all of us - don't leave our stuff unattended (or with a man). In spite of that, you did GOOD! I especially love those teacups. And that atrium is fabulous!!! Good for you Sissie!

Wow! What marvelous things you found starting with the gorgeous pink bed jacket...when I was having my babies, getting a new frilly and usually pale pink or blue bed jacket to pack for the hospital was something I looked forward to shopping for...kind of like the icing on the cake after not being able to see my feet for months....hehehe!
I love mismatched china...says so much and your Home Goods atrium is wonderful...it looks nice how you have it...wish we had a Home Goods around here....I have never been to one and I would love it I know. We have TJMAXX where I find wonderful things.....
How old was the man behind the counter?..Maybe he has early dementia?..anyway you wound up having a wonderful day it looks like!

Beautiful finds. So sorry you lost some of the things you had picked out.

I still have the gown and robe set that my mother wore on her wedding night almost 50 years ago. It is a beautiful off white flowy set that I used to love to dress up in. I need to pull it back out and see what I can do with it. Thanks...

Hi Sissie, I know that $%*)$#!@, guy. He must travel between the US and Germany ;-). Some weeks ago I gave him some vintage linen towels and yarns to save for me and when I wanted to pay for it the towels were gone. The things you lost were for sure more exciting and I'm sorry that this happenend to you as well! I'm glad you found some other great stuff though. The laces are very yummy and I love that atrium.
Have a great Tuesday, Sissie!

Hi Sissie, I love your "pink" bed jacket! I haven't worn a bed jacket since my three children were born! I never see anyone wear them any more when I visit a hospital, etc.
You found such lovely things; I can imagine the smoke coming out of your ears when the "gentlemen" was so indifferent to not watching your stack of lovelies! You did find some great things, thank you for sharing!
Hugz,
Kim
PS
I will be doing a post on my pink pillow on Saturday, thank you so much, love it!

Morning Sissie girl, Love the entire post and the top image of the sweet pink bedjacket, well it so reminds me of a little number my momma bought or perhaps sewed for me to wear in the hospital when I gave birth to my first child at age 18. You'll have to know that in the early 60's a woman could not possible show her upper arms or any sign of cleavage. I HAD to be modestly covered while looking demure and sweet. Grrrrr! the good ole days? ha

I love that pretty pink bed jacket and those laces and linens are gorgeous!!!! Such pretty and special finds. I am so sorry that man let someone take your pretties! I feel so bad for you!!! The teacups and saucers are so beautiful and I love how you have them displayed. Your photos are always so pretty too! I also love the Rose Lithograph, it is perfect in your vignette, and the Victorian atrium is stunning! Wonderful finds!!! Love, Paula

Hey Sissie, You got some great things...love the bed jacket and lace. I have been on the lookout for a tabletop atrium. Looking forward to seeing how you decorate it. Someone grabbed my pile of stuff at a garage sale once. They obviously saw me pay for it and when I turned away they grabbed it & just walked off. I can understand you wanting to strangle that man!
