Wedded Bliss

Hi Bloggerettes!  Today is the big wedding day....Stephanie's Wedding Party at Angelic Accents and I'm gettin in on the party!

Our wedding wasn't fancy.  We were married in a small country church with family and friends.  It didn't matter that it wasn't elaborate because we loved each other so much.

A friend made my dress.  I thought it was beautiful.  I loved daisies so she made a long sash covered with daisies.

I would have modeled my dress for you but I would of had to cut it in to two pieces and wrap ducktape around me I  decided I wanted you to really see it.  So, I took it outside in the lovely sunlight for a photo.

We were married in 1974, yes I'm old, and we just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.

Here's our little cake topper that I've kept all these years

Now go on over to Stephanie's at Angelic Accents for
some more sweet wedded bliss.
Stephanie has an amazing collection of
wedding pretties.  You are going to love it.

~~hugs~~

Good morning Sissie, oh I love your dress, how sweet is that. I wanted a dress made out of dotted swiss.. I don't think they even make that fabric any more! My dress however was the standard whatever satiny fabric they made dresses out of..
I think us 1970's brides have a lot of pride, we have been married THAT long!
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Sissie,
Your wedding dress is gorgeous and you know, my wedding outfit, although you can't see it in the photo, had little posies around the empire waist too, only mine were white and pink. Thanks for sharing your special day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Sissie, you ARE hilarious! It's a good thing that Stephanie didn't ask us to model our wedding dresses! I'm like you, forget it! You're dress is just wonderful with the little daisies on the band. Small country church sounds heavenly to me. All I had for a backdrop was metal and vinyl folding doors, yuk.

Debra

Hey Sissie--a 70's bride here as well...dotted swiss dress with daisy bands at the neck, wrists, and empire waist!!! Hey, maybe those daisies were good luck charms and all of our marriages have made it because of them!

That was so funny about having to duct tape yourself to get into your dress!!! But it looks beautiful and how wonderful to have found your perfect man the first time around...it took me the 2nd time around to find mine:)

This made me smile. Love your dress, and probably my dress would be a tad tight too. You are not as old as I. LOL Married 48 years to the same wonderful man.

Hi Sissie,
Your wedding dress is so pretty! Love the daisy embellishment at the waist. You've got to give me some of that duct tape, 'cause I know there is no way I could fit into my dress I wore 10 years ago!!

Hi Sissie Sweetie...
Thank you so much for stopping by to say hi. I have so missed blogging.

I adore your post today, and your wedding dress is just beautiful. I love the daisy trim. My dress was a high bodice, round neck that had seems coming down both sides of the front, and it had white and blue daisies. I was married in 76. It was a thing back then I believe. I have my original cake topper also. Your veil looks beautiful sweetie. Mine was a little Juliet cap. Thank you for sharing.

I am so out of the loop. I guess I don't get to be a sorority sister, as I missed Karen's post about the photo, and I am to far behind to create today. Always a day late and a dollar short. Your pillow is beautiful, and knowing Karen as I do, I know she was over the top thrilled with your creation. I have actually got to meet with her twice here in Phoenix. What a beautiful lady inside and out she is.

I go back to the doc July 9th. He will discuss then when he is going to release me to go back to work. It has been almost 2 months now. I am so tired of being inside, but am following the rules as I do NOT want to spend another 8 days in the hospital for a very LONG time. On July 2nd I go to see the Ear, Nose and Throat doc. They want to go down my throat and look around, especially at my larynx. I am still so hoarse that I can hardly talk, they believe it is just from the excessive coughing, but want to make sure.

Thank you for your love and prayers. I hope to be back in the saddle again more permanently. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Sissie so glad I got over here tonight to see your beautiful wedding dress. Darn I wish you could of model it for us. To model mine I would have to do more than duck tape.
This wedding party was fun. I don't usually do them but I did this one and enjoyed it.
Love your giveaway items that you won. They are really beautiful. What creative ladies out here in this blog world.
Love
Maggie

Sissie, your gown is just beautiful. Love the neckline, the covered buttons, and oh, the glorious daisy sash! The veil is gorgeous also ~ you've seen how I adore veils! :o)

I had lots of pink and lavender daisies at my wedding. You and I were just hippy love baby brides in 1974!!

BTW, I think you got into my bedroom and stole my wedding cake couple!! Love how you have yours underneath the cloche. Very pretty.

I'm so glad you joined the WEDDING BLOG PARTY! And I've even more honored to be able to call you my special sweet friend!

Love,
Stephanie
