At the Discovery Shop's vintage event last week they had four or five of those hair dryers, electric razors like I had back in the late 60's, early 70's, transitor radios, it was a blast from the past!!
Good Morning Sissie Sweetie...
I remember those hair dryers very well. My sister used to burn her ears every other day when she used hers. She would wash, curl and dry. I just washed and combed. Straight and stringy for me. What a memory flash that was.
Love the typewriter, at least they only ran out of ribbon and not memory. We could fix that ourselves. Not even a thumbdrive needed for a copy, we just used carbon paper. Remember carbon paper copies?
Your bench is exquisite. Now I hope you are keeping it and not putting it in the store. It is SO you.
Have a gorgeous Monday sweet friend.
Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
Sissie, I love all the treasures you found, I especially love that bench, it's gorgeous!!! I didn't go treasure hunting this past weekend, stayed home to catch up on things! Blessings~~~ Daphne
Sissie I used one of those hair dryers and seeing one cracks me up! Oh what we did for beauty. I love the bench it is too pretty, you have such an eye and a way to transform ugly into pretty!!
oh yeah, i used to tuck the poofy plastic behind my ears, but still catch the gigantic rollers. pinch - OUCH! lol.
great post, sissie!!!!
Hey Sweet Sissie Girl,
I MISSED you! I love your hairdryer. boy that brings back memories of sitting under there with pincurls my Mommy did for me. My ears would be fried afterward. I also entered your giveaway, you rock star! I won't tell if you happen to rig it. LOL
And your/MY guest room, it looks like a dream room! Love all the cushy pillows! I could hole up in there for a week, catch up on my bad TV & chill. Maybe come out long enough for a ride on that pink big wheel up to the flea! Missed you my friend. Lisa
I remember spending what seemed like hours under one of those hair dryers! They burned the tip of my ears, I remember it vividly! I still love the sound of typewriter keys...
The bench is fabulous!

Ha! You don't remember much, do you, Sissie!? ; ) I haven't seen one of those hair dryers in I don't know how long. I remember when I was a kid a friend's mother had one. I think we played with it and broke it. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we did. Love the new blog lay-out, Sissie!
Sorry to have to say, I can remember both the hair dryer and typewriter very well. Have used them both a many a time! :=)
Oooh I love vintage typewriters, they make such a good accessory for the home I think.

I'm only in my early 40's but I so remember those old style hairdyers. My Mom still had one very similar to that for years when I was very young, although I don't recall the case being anywhere near as pretty as the on you found. What's funny is that it got used most often for drying socks that were just a bit damp from us kids playing out in the snow, or as a way to heat the socks up before we got all dressed up in our winter gear. Just thinking about it brings back memories of that special odor of the the heat it generated while those socks dried. Ahhhhhh... the memories of childhood.
My sister had a pink hairdryer similar to yours. I wish I had it now! I also wish I hadn't thrown out my typewriter when we got our first computer. That thing worked like a champ!
Hi Sissie...Can you believe it...how we used to dry our hair?? lol! Fun vintage finds, Sissie!~Hugs, Patti
Hi Sissie! I thought I left you a comment, but it doesn't seem to be here! If it shows up, ignore me! :)
I had a hair dryer like you found, but not with a pretty cover like yours. And...a baby blue typewriter - that I still have! You do find the best stuff.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Sissie,
Dare I say that I remember some of those items??? I guess I am an oldie...but a goodie! haha!
I learned to type in high school on a typewriter much like that one....everything I learned, like shorthand is now obsolete
Your etched mirror looks wonderful! I love round mirrors!
Hugs...Jil
Hi Sissie! I'm so glad you showed me these oldies...never seen them before!!! LOL!!!!
Ok, have to say, I remember the hair dryer (OUCH!), and as an office worker... refuse to think about that relic with the keys! All fun finds though:@)
Hi Sissie,
Yes I too remember the hair dryer and the type writer. MY how things have changed. Love the new fresh feel of your blog. But your blog is always GORGEOUS!
Blessings dear friend:_)
Gwen
I remember the hair dryer and the typewriter! Argh! I guess if you don't remember them, Liquid Paper doesn't likely ring any bells either? Love that bench by the way...
Wow! We're both sooo young. I don't remember any of those things either. Especially the nifty hair dryer that did indeed burn the heck out of your ears. :)
Love that hairdryer! I'm so glad I missed that particular apparatus in it's heyday!
Always fun to come and "window shope" with you! XXMollye
That bench is gorgeous! You have so many white things, yet they're all distinctive and varied in texture.
LOL! I sure do remember those! We've come a long way, Baby! And remember those heat curlers! Ouch!
Hugs! Diane
Hi Sissie,

Huh? No, I don't know where the burn scars on my ears came from…honest.
Love that etched mirror! Not so much love for the bonnet hair dryer ~ I hated Mother's. But she would torture me every Sat. afternoon so I'd have ringlets for Sunday! :0)
