Finds and Creations

Hi Bloggerettes!  Wanna see what I won at auction?  Of course, it needed tons a little bit of paint and love!!!  Do you remember these old wardrobes that held so many treasures, like Grandma's dead squirrel cape! Yikes those things were creepy!
Of course, I wanted to keep it for myself, but that's how I always feel about anything I redo or find.

Check out this gorgeous antique iron bed in another booth.  I sure wish it were mine!  But, I'd have to paint it white.

Of course I'm always working on a burlap runner....
And a matching pillow...

Be sure and stop by there and catch everyone's fabulous finds and creations.

Go out and make it a good week.  I hope you find, create, decorate, write or photograph something wonderful !!

~~hugs~~

I probably would have kept that one for myself. I know how that is though. Years ago I used to paint furniture to sell. There was one piece in particular I wanted and priced it high thinking no one would buy it. This lady kept coming in the store every day begging the owner to talk me into reducing the price. Knowing how bad she wanted it, I didn't. I really thought she wouldn't pay that much.

Little did I know her husband would pay full price for it for Christmas. To this day, I still regret letting that one go.

Love the green knobs and the pretty edges on yours! I'm sure it will sell quickly.

Your cabinet is sweet! Are you really going to keep it? I love the glass knobs. And the bed is gorgeous!

I think I will be having a slow week, but that's okay, it will be crazy busy before you know it!

Love the runner. I am looking for a runner that is shorter than most as my dining table only seats 4. It's hard to find tablecloths, too. Sigh.

XO,
Jane

I like those old wardrobes, but it does creep me out when there's a necktie or something left in them. It reminds me that it's probably from some old person's estate. I am going to attempt a burlap runner tomorrow. I like the look of the fabric (instead of burlap) on the ruffled part.

That's a yummy wardrobe, Sissie!
I'd have to price it really, really high so that no one else would buy it and I could keep it for myself. :-)

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Anne

Hi Sissieness! Oh, that's a lovely little wardrobe!! It looks great! Keep it, keep it! :)
Your runner is so lovely and I like the contrasting ruffle. Do you line your runners?
I just made a simple cotton one for a fund raiser for one of our blog friends. I didn't line mine.

I don't remember squirrel but I remember a lot of faux fur. I remember my mom cut up some old faux fur so my Barbie house's livingroom would have a fur rug. Oh, the good ole days! =) And that bed is fab!

Hi Sissie girl,
I just LOVE that runner and pillow! Love the wardrobe too; especially in white! I'm glad I don't have to part with the things I paint! It's so much work and then to have to turn around and sell it; don't think I could. Your booth must be filled with treasures that make your heart go pitter patter!

Blessings,
Sandi

Sissie,
The old wardrobe is great . My grandmother had one when I was a girl , I remember I thought it was weird that she didn't have a closet , but had this old box thing instead , now I would give anything to have it. Yes it would be hard for me to give it up too.

love the white wardrobe! Your burlap pieces are always lovely. Is this a special type of burlap or is all burlap the same? I've never really seen anyone other than you use it to make such pretty things.

I can see why you want to keep that gorgeous wardrobe. I grew up with one a lot like it in our laundry room. It stored my mom's neatly stacked fabrics - I thought it was magical.
Lovin' the runner and pillow.
