Busy with this and that!

Hi Beautiful Bloggerettes!  I have been so busy lately that I haven't posted anything new.  Went to an auction yesterday and grabbed a few good things.  They are all projects, of course, so I'll show them to you later.

I've got some projects in mind for my home too.  First of all, I want to do something about my built in bookcases.  I seem to draw a blank when it comes to these monsters.  It's been suggested by some of you to paint the backs a color or add wallpaper.  It's been suggested to
add books and greenery.  I'm thinking about starting a collection of
white crockery and ironstone.  I want to keep it light and airy like the rest of the room.

I'm also wanting to find the right fabric for some window panels.

Not only do I have built ins in the livingroom area but in the family room kitchen area as well.  This one houses the big black box.I'm looking for some good stuff to go on the top of the built ins.

I got this sweet vanity bench at the auction the other day.
I decided not to paint it because I love its chippy, worn and shabby look.  I did recover the top with the animal print fabric.
It's going to my booth tomorrow.
I'm also in the mood to change the bedding in the Master bedroom.
I love all white, but I'm thinking of adding some color.
I've got my work cut out for me with all of these changes I'm wanting to make.  It won't happen right away but these are the things at the top of my list.

How bout you, how's your list coming along?

~~hugs~~

Your house is just beautiful. I would love to have all those built-ins. I seem to collect a lot of stuff and then have no place to display it.
Lots on my list of things to do....including getting a post written about that wonderful giveaway I won from you!!
Have a great weekend.

Your house is gorgeous and I wouldn't change a thing but when we live in our own spaces we always want to do something a little different to utilize our "creative juices". I have a few ideas but when I mention something to my husband he just "rolls his eyes"...do you know that look? ~Hugs, Patti

List? Do I gotta do a list? At the top of it would be.....more sleep! I think I've been bitten by the tsetse fly lately. All I want to do is sleep.......

LOVE all the possibilities in your living area. Built-ins are so fun to decorate. Love your little bench re-do, also!

I just love your style Sissie. I have been redoing the shelving in our entry...all day...still not thrilled. I am beginning to think I have a problem, haha. After my daughter watched me move things around several times she said, stop! ...and look again tomorrow. Decorating ADD.

Your home is just gorgeous, Sissie! I love your bookcases, I have always dreamed of having built-ins like that! I was going to suggest the same thing: either paint the backs, or paper them, picking up some of your favorite colors in the room. That way, it really would make the crockery and ironstone pop! And I also really love the framed pressed ferns. So pretty!

Hi Sissie, I haven't posted either because I am doing so much work on the bathroom dressing table. And you know how one thing leads to another....I hope I can get a post up tomorrow with at least a progress report of what I have been up to. Your house is gorgeous, I love those windows with the transoms over them. I like your idea of a white ironstone collection too. I opened my can of paint for the backs of my bookcases, a pale pink, and it had a terrible mildew smell! I had to get rid of it...so that project is delayed now. Anyway, it is a good time of year for getting things done.

Everything is so gorgeous and could stay the same for me. But I know we all get tired of things after awhile and want a change. Whatever you choose to do will be absolutely breath-taking I'm sure.

Oh Sissie, I think your home is absolutely beautiful as it is... but I do understand wanting a change! I have a lot of things I want to change in my home to... so many that it will probably take me all year to get them all done!

Your home is simply lovely. And I love your built ins. If I were in your business I would have them completely filled in and changing everyday, I am such a clutterbug!

Love the bench and seeing more of the animal prints in your home. The bench will be snapped up in a minute! Looking forward to seeing what you found at the auction!

Jane

Remember to listen to what YOU want.....it's good when people suggest, but only you have to live with it. Change is always good, but it is also beautiful as it is.

Sissy, I have never been brave enough to go to an auction, it is on my bucket list LOL. Think of me tomorrow it is the big after holiday booth redo, probably about 3 hours, at leas there is an MT booth net to mine so I will have a place to put stuff while I reorganize. Good luck with your booth tomorrow.

I am working on a master bedroom redo. One of the things I plan to do is take my fern prints out of the bathroom room, change the frames from dark to light and put them in my master bedroom. So I was so happy to see how beautiful your bedroom looks with the pretty fern botanicals in creamy frames. Now I know I'm on the right track!

Sissie, I'm thinking the white ironstone would look the best in your bookshelves in the living room. I also think some oversized white ironstone pieces on top of the bookshelves in your kitchen would look great as well. Maybe some hugh platters on easels? whatever you decide I'm sure will be fab.
