Isn't she the sweetest little girl ever!
I just wonder why or how someone could ever part with this.
Is it someone's child or just an artist's imagination....
I'm thinking I'll do something with the frame. Maybe white wash it, not sure. Would you leave it as is or paint it?
~~hugs~~

It is SO pretty, Sissie. I would have grabbed it up right away, too! I think a white wash would be beautiful!

Oh, she is stunning and haunting, really special. I think whitewash for sure. Thanks for sharing her.
Hi Sissie, Yes, she is adorable! I vote white wash.

Sherry
It is is almost haunting, the idea that someone would give that to a thrift store. You know me, I vote paint it. I just looked up and saw that someone else called it haunting, it is like you almost feel sorry for her, she is beautiful!

Yes ! She is the prettiest little thing , what a sweetheart ! and yes you need to do something to that frame . It needs to be much fancier for that little girl. Girlier ! Add some ribbon or lace after you white wash it . That's my vote .
She is so pretty:) I would paint the frame the same color as her dress.

I say white or slightly off white. She is wonderful, I love when a piece of art or a picture draws you in and I think she did. I think she needs a name. She looks like an Amelia to me!!!
What a sweet painting!
Thank you for your comment and encouragement!
Well, to begin with it's not a diet *wink* It's a lifestyle change. It's really the way I should eat the rest of my life. It's not temporary. KEEPING with it is the problem!!! Portion control, one oreo cookie NOT the whole bag, etc etc etc
I'm no spring chicken. The older we get the more difficult it is to lose those extra pounds but my back needs me to lose them and bad knees run in my family too . . .
You CAN do it . . but you have to want to :) Believe me, I could easily throw in the towel, LOL, but the size 12s are fitting . . . I'm shooting to get into my 10s!

Hi Sissy.....you do find the most adorable things.....white paint for sure!

HELLO SISSIE GAL~OMG!!! SHE IS GORGEOUS :) I COULD SEE WHY YOU JUST HAD TO HAVE HER :)
I SAY PAINT THE FRAME :)
XOXO~MARI
I don't know which is bigger....her hoop earrings or her eyes. She is just breathtaking!
I personally love unframed stretched canvas. I suppose it makes me really look at the art and this one is perfect!
Deb
She's beautiful...and definitely needs a white frame:) A few years ago I saw a photograph of the most beautiful little girl. It was laying there among some junk and just broke my heart. Couldn't imagine how someone could ever part with such a photo. I bought it for $2! My husband did give me a good suggestion...I wrote on the back that she wasn't a member of our family:)
She's precious. I think Whitewash, it would look so much softer. Cute girl. Hugs, Marty
She is just so precious! I wonder too sometimes how artists can part with their work? Maybe a family heirloom that someone got rid of?
Jeanine
I know what you mean, I was thrifting today..in some super scary!!!!! places and found some great things and was wondering the same thing!!!
Well, you know me, Sissie ~ I'd paint it white!! It is hauntingly beautiful! I wonder how people can part with such things?!?!
SO happy you came by for a visit today. I'm home, but my computer appears to have fried when the power went out....so I'm stuck to using pics off my hub's 'puter for now. He is staying with daughter for a few days to give me a chance to do things here. She is getting better, although much slower than anticipated ~ thanks so much for asking!

OMG Sissie!! Do you find treasures on a daily basis? I am so over seeing all the stuff you find and put in the booth. Grrrrr...
Anyway I think a whitewash is perfect for this pretty young thing. Her cotton dress is so sweet.
She is so beautiful...I love it. I think a white washed frame would look great.
Wow, what an amazing find!, she's so impish and has such a great expression. The eyes are phenomenal. Wouldn't you love to know her history.

You wonder how things like that end up in antique store, GW or thrift stores, makes you wonder. I think she is adorable and I think the it would look lovely painted white, I can't wait to see what you do with it:)
It is gorgeous and so pure! You were so lucky to find her!
She has quite an enigmatic little smile, almost like the Mona Lisa. Such a sweet painting. I would go with the white for the frame.
Love your blog. I came across it though Whimsical musings. It is really beautiful.
Oh most definitely a white wash! She will shine even more!
Hugs,
Jacalyn
Oh Sissie,
She's beautiful! Kinda looks like a sweet girl I know...hum. I'd have her hanging in my bedroom if I were you. Love the last post. The makeover on the cabinet, AWESOME! And the chair, pillow, all of it. So Sissified! Lisa
Oh, she is so pretty, Sissie. I'd whitewash the frame!

I like the frame, but I think she will look wonderfull, with a somehow white frame, as well....
And dear, the peat pot, and book bundles from post below, are all so gorgeus-Love them--and the chairs, as well.
Happy evening dear, Sissie.

What a wonderful find, Sissie! You always manage to unearth the most wonderful treasures! I say whitewash for sure! But I am also wondering how a very, very pale blue would look????
You know, Sissie....you could have told everyone it was you when you where little and I don't think any of us would not have believed you.....absolutely precious.

You know girl you want to paint that frame! It is a beautiful painting ad will be even more so when you are done with it. Blessings!
It does make you wonder why someone would give that away. It's a beautiful portrait! I think you should paint the frame. If you do, post what you did so we can compare the before and after!
Jane
Your picture is almost magical. So sweet. I love her lips.
Ginger
You had wonderful instincts Sissie! What a darling sweet face! I have a number of old paintings without any frames at all.
Oh, Sissie, she is totally precious!!! I love this!!!
XO
I think I would paint it.
Blessings,
Linda
What a treasure! I think I would change the frame too, something to make the picture pop. I think white would be a great choice!
Have I told you lately how darn lucky you are....lol
Girlfriend you find the best pieces of anyone I have ever known. I would love to follow you around on your outings.
This is a great find. You are right it needs a new frame color
Love your beautiful headboard
and You
Maggie
Very cute!! Check out my blog I awarded you something.
Is it a painting or a reproduced thing. I think someone painted and gave it as a gift or made a second one better. More likely the model didn't like it. It's head looks too forward on that body that is too small for the head.
She is sweet and darling and I would keep it. Infact i'd even think of cutting it shorter. either way it'd be great in the right setting. I'd love to see what you do with it.
