Sweet Little Girl

Hi Bloggerettes!  I'm so excited to show you this great framed canvas art.  I walked into a thrift shop and there she sat.  Her big blue eyes looked right at me and said, "you know you want to buy me and take me home."  And I said, oh yes, I do.

Isn't she the sweetest little girl ever!

I just wonder why or how someone could ever part with this.
Is it someone's child or just an artist's imagination....

I'm thinking I'll do something with the frame.  Maybe white wash it, not sure.  Would you leave it as is or paint it?

~~hugs~~
Sissie

It is is almost haunting, the idea that someone would give that to a thrift store. You know me, I vote paint it. I just looked up and saw that someone else called it haunting, it is like you almost feel sorry for her, she is beautiful!

Yes ! She is the prettiest little thing , what a sweetheart ! and yes you need to do something to that frame . It needs to be much fancier for that little girl. Girlier ! Add some ribbon or lace after you white wash it . That's my vote .

I say white or slightly off white. She is wonderful, I love when a piece of art or a picture draws you in and I think she did. I think she needs a name. She looks like an Amelia to me!!!

What a sweet painting!

Thank you for your comment and encouragement!

Well, to begin with it's not a diet *wink* It's a lifestyle change. It's really the way I should eat the rest of my life. It's not temporary. KEEPING with it is the problem!!! Portion control, one oreo cookie NOT the whole bag, etc etc etc

I'm no spring chicken. The older we get the more difficult it is to lose those extra pounds but my back needs me to lose them and bad knees run in my family too . . .

You CAN do it . . but you have to want to :) Believe me, I could easily throw in the towel, LOL, but the size 12s are fitting . . . I'm shooting to get into my 10s!

I don't know which is bigger....her hoop earrings or her eyes. She is just breathtaking!
I personally love unframed stretched canvas. I suppose it makes me really look at the art and this one is perfect!

She's beautiful...and definitely needs a white frame:) A few years ago I saw a photograph of the most beautiful little girl. It was laying there among some junk and just broke my heart. Couldn't imagine how someone could ever part with such a photo. I bought it for $2! My husband did give me a good suggestion...I wrote on the back that she wasn't a member of our family:)

She is just so precious! I wonder too sometimes how artists can part with their work? Maybe a family heirloom that someone got rid of?

Well, you know me, Sissie ~ I'd paint it white!! It is hauntingly beautiful! I wonder how people can part with such things?!?!

SO happy you came by for a visit today. I'm home, but my computer appears to have fried when the power went out....so I'm stuck to using pics off my hub's 'puter for now. He is staying with daughter for a few days to give me a chance to do things here. She is getting better, although much slower than anticipated ~ thanks so much for asking!

OMG Sissie!! Do you find treasures on a daily basis? I am so over seeing all the stuff you find and put in the booth. Grrrrr...
Anyway I think a whitewash is perfect for this pretty young thing. Her cotton dress is so sweet.

Is it a painting or a reproduced thing. I think someone painted and gave it as a gift or made a second one better. More likely the model didn't like it. It's head looks too forward on that body that is too small for the head.
She is sweet and darling and I would keep it. Infact i'd even think of cutting it shorter. either way it'd be great in the right setting. I'd love to see what you do with it.
