I found these great bistro chairs, complete with a great chippy and rusty patina. I'm not sure whether to paint them or not. Their in great shape and very sturdy...
The rust is in all the right places...
Shall we stay au naturel, or cover it up????
ummm????
~~hugs~~

I think you should keep it. I love them!
Love the rust!
Keep it! Adds to the vintage charm!
Jeanine
I vote keep the rust! You could spray it with clear matte sealer to keep the rust in it's perfect places. They are chippy rusty fabulous! great find! oxxoxoxo
No Paint!! The rust is beautiful!! Great find!!
they are perfect as is!! love.
My vote is the same as the others....definitely keep the rust, they look perfectly shabby just the way they are! They are great chairs.
Jane
I have similar chairs and recently asked the same question....everyone said keep the rust!
keep the rust...
I love the rust and I would rough up the paint some more. I love the look of the old French bistro chairs on Dreamy Whites blog. You could always spray them with some poly so the rust won't rub off on peoples clothes.
By all means, keep the rust! Completely charming.
Keeps the rust! Where did you find the crown, I have been looking for one like that forever! Hugs Marilou
I vote for tthe rust.......
Keep the rust! They're perfect like that! :)I love the crown too.
Hugs,
Sonya
Sissie, I think it has been decided......Keep the rust!!
Carol
Love the rust! I would probably put a sealer on them so they don't rust further. They are perfect right now!
Oh Sissy I have the same problem, I tend to like things all neat and tidy so rust kind of bothers me, but I see others buying things because they are rusty. I have to paint, but if you like rust and chippy then keep them au naturelle! I have a whole patio set that we have had for over 40 years that has become rusty, because of my neglect. It is really nice and I plan on fixing it up this summer. I wish you luck,Kathysue
For now, I would keep the rust - and if you get tired of it ....
You dress up your furniture with accessories so beautifully.

Sissie I love the rust look to them!! Great set of darling chairs!
Keep the Rust Sissie! Love it, great find!
They are perfect just the way they are! (of course that is coming from a rust lover) =)

Sissie,
Thanks so much for your visit and sweet comment!!
I would keep the rust. As you said, it is in all the right places!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Don't touch them Sissie!!! I passed up a similar pair a while back and have been kicking myself ever since! The rust makes them just perfect, it's not too much.
Tracey
I would keep the rust, they are perfekt as is!!!
greetings from Belgium,
Sonja
I think there is just enough rust to be perfectly perfect. I wish someone would come clean my home from top to bottom. Not an easy task since I have so much stuff and we have so many dust storms in this heat. :/ Good luck with the sale of your home. It is lovely and I am sure buyers will be drawn in by its charm. Great makeover on that chair that is sitting so prettily in the corner of the dining room. And those pillows on your entryway bench. Even if that rug that you think doesn't match looks great just where it is. You have that touch to bring everything together nicely. Have a wonderful day. Tammy
You know what? I'm a big fan of rust, but I actually think you might want to paint these, Sissie. I think crisp, clean white might be a better look for these particular chairs.
Go with your gut.
They are perfect as they are Sissie but the choice is stil yours. Have a nice Sunday
They look great Sissie! Happy Sunday:@)
Lightening WILL strike if you lift a brush to that rust ; )
xo

Oh I hope I'm not to late.... you should absolutely leave the rust, their perfect!!!
hugs~~~ Daphne
I vote for the rust too Sissie, it would be a crime to paint those babies!
I like them "as is", Sissie!
I wouldn't change a thing about them ~ beautiful with just the right amount of rust Sissie!
Maureen
Sissie...as is for sure! They are perfect!
I do agree with Susie though ~ sealing them will also prevent any rust coming off and onto your Summer whites!
The rust really is in all the right places! You could go either way with painting or not. Hmm...I would probably leave them alone.
I think they look great as is!
You should see mine, I don't think yours actually have much rust at all compared to mine.
Hugs,
Anne
If you paint them, would you distress them?
If so...then keep the rust. It adds to the charm of the chairs.
Love them!
Hugs,
Debbie
G'morn, Sissie ~ I am not into rust, but they are very nice the way they are. I'd paint them, personally.
I didn't buy any of the dresses. I only have one dress hanging out for ll to see. Maybe one day I'll model it. I should probably hang out the dresses Mother made me. Good idea, thank you for motivation.
Have a beautiful Father's Day with your family, Sissie.
Have a beautiful week.
TTFN ~

Don't touch these awesome 'rusty" chairs...lovin' them as is!!!
Blessings,
Linda
They are wonderful and it would depend on how you are going to use them! To display things...they are perfect! If you are going to sit in them, then I would touch them up! I would probably leave them and use them for display...I'm anxious to see what you do! ♥
I would like to keep them as they are and sell them to me!! Then find me 2 more!! Love them. Gia2366@gmail.com

LOVE the rust!
I say keep it!
Hi Sissie
The chairs are fabulous... just the way they are. I love the patina, if you want perfect you can always buy new ones, you can't buy the patina.
Great find!
Blessings
Rebecca
Oh, there's no contest there! Leave the rust! I love me a little rust. Perfectly shabby chic.
My vot is to leave them the way they are, especially if using them for displays.
I like rust. Maybe a clear coating so the rust doesn't get on anyone's white slacks? ;-)
Hugs, Diane
My vote is to keep the rust. I just like the look. I am wondering, and don't fall off your chair laughing, as this may be a very dumb question, but....is there a way to seal the rust. To keep the look, but have it sealed so it is just a bit tidier???

The seat and backs are terrific, so I'd leave the rust. Like you said it's in all the right places! fab chairs btw!
Yes all are getting excited about the wedding. Especially since her father broke his ankle and needs surgery but they found a blockage to his heart which needs a stent so all is up in the air whether he will be at the wedding or n the hospital :(:(
Hugs*deb
Oh gosh, I love the rust! But, I think it's all a matter of preference, so it's hard to know what a client would want....I think I'd make a fancy tag for each one that has French writing in the background and then across it I'd print out "Rusted Treasure." That would be very eye-catching.
XO
Cindy
Personally, I would paint them. There, I've said it! :)
Sissie, I kinda like 'em just the way they are! Great find!
No paint! :) They are perfect just the way they are, Sissie! ♥ LUV them!
xoxo laurie
