Paint Brush Maniac!

Hi Bloggerettes!  Lately nothing, I mean nothing, in my house is safe from my paint brush!!  Even the kitties are getting scared.  I've also found myself being drawn to shades of blues, aquas and greens.....what's up with that!  I've always been a real white and neutral kinda gal.
It all started with this pillow.....

And then,
While reading a post at
on how to cover a bench seat...
I fell in love with the paint color she used.  It's called "shaded cove" by Valspar, which is from their sea tints.
I have been pondering whether or not to paint the bench in my dining room......
too late, pondering over!

Then I found some pretty shell fabric...
And look what transpired....
Do you like?
It matches nothing in my house, nothing. But, I love it!
I'm thinking I will put some more stain on it and do a little more sanding.  Who knows what color it will be next year or maybe even next month!

Do you ever get the urge to paint something? Do you have withdrawl when you haven't painted anything for awhile?  Might be a real sickness, who knows.  If it is, then it's really contagious here in Blogland!

I think Debra at Common Ground is waving her paint brush around too.  So, I'm joining her Vintage Inspiration Fridays.  See ya over there.

Also joining the party over at Perfectly Imperfect All Things Furniture!  Be sure and join the fun.

~~hugs~~
Sissie

What a great shell fabric, Sissie! I love how it looks like the middle leg on the bench has a decorative shell that works so well with the fabric. I don't think we should try and figure out these things; just go with it!

You never cease to amaze me Sissie, it is so beautiful and restful and that pillow is AMAZING! How about a little wax once you've sanded, I'm all into wax since using it on some chalk paint projects. I'm also having this aqua thing, more like Annie Sloan's "provence", what is happening to us!! {except apparantly every time I comment on what a nice greenish aqua something is I'm told it is blue - all in the eye of the beholder I say!!}

It looks lovely and I love the color. This is the year for painting in our home. I am done with our bedroom and now will be starting in our hall and dining room. Along with painting the rooms I am painting what ever else I can too. Blues and whites so far.

I love it too! I noticed that color at Sonya's blog as well. Don't you love it when someone shares a great color?? It might not "match" anything in your house, but in a mostly neutral home, I am sure it goes!!

Yes I think it is a real sickness , and you are a carrier , I have it also , My son threatened to hide my pink paint after the polka- dots on the porch chairs. But I just love the transformation paint makes ! And I love your bench !

Hi Sissy!
WOW that sure is a pretty color. It is so calming and that fabric works so well. I love those colors and did my art studio in a similar color with pinks! A pretty bright and happy space to create in.

Did you make your towel rosettes yet? Thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments!

Your killing me, Sissy!
Love, love, love it...send it my way when your done. Where can I find the fabric?

Experience tells me when you display something out of the ordinary it gives the house/vignette/store new fresh pizzaz. And this bench screams summer all year long.

Absolutely beautiful Sissie! I love everything about it. I love that you have a theme going with the shells. Love it, love it, love it.

I'm pretty sure there has never been a cuter bench. Good grief, the fabric picks up the shell on the the back of the bench, and the blue is oh so heavenly...

I love the bench makeover Sissie! The color and fabric would go fantastic with my decor. I have a bench that is in serious need of a makeover and I was going to use the AS Chalk Paint "Provence." But I like how yours turned out so I may get the "shaded cove" by Valspar to paint it.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey there Sissie~
I am in LOVE with your bench! Love a hint of that color around a house, especially in summer. It's perfect with all your whites, shells & glass. Have you tried painting on muslin yet? I'm behind in blogging so you may have tried it in an earlier post. If not, it's fun! Just use some of that leftover paint & dab some on your ruffles.
Hope your holiday weekend was awesome!

Sissy I remember your blue topped table. I had my stenciled table, then unstenciled already in the garage when I saw yours. It must have been pretty popular. I bet yours sold quick, I notice buyers love that blue color
