What's On Your Vanity?????

Some describe vanity tables or dressing tables as an altar to ourselves.  If that's true then I say why not fill them up with all the things that you love and are a part of you.  So, what's on your vanity table.......

Is it like Elizabeth Taylor's with all the pretty perfume bottles.....
Do you save all of your old perfumes and occassionally get a whiff of days gone by.....

Do you fill it up with little treasures.  Things that have been made with loving care and passed down over the years.  Given to us by those we love or brought into our lives because they give us a sense of ourselves.....

Is it where you start your day and decide which bauble to place around your neck.
This is my sister Kim's vanity....and yes she really has this much jewlery....

Do you have precious photos that make you smile and remember good thoughts....
These special photos of my Mother and Sisters always make me smile....

Do you keep a piece of your Grandmother's jewlery there so you can look at it with love and affection....

Are you like me and sit on your vanity bench and apply your makeup and do your hair.....

Or is your vanity seat whimsical like Amy's at Maison Decor....

Whether it is just a corner of the sink or a small table in your bathroom or bedroom....whether it's chic and glamorous or shabby chic....its the space that you have claimed to call your own.

So, do tell......what's on your vanity????

~~hugs~~
Sissie

What luxurious photos--I keep mine clear. I guess that means I'm too utilitarian. Sigh. Love the crown in your header, I passed on Wuslu's deal today, now I kind of wish I hadn't.

I stand in front of my bathroom mirror to do my hair and makeup and that space need to be prettier ! I have a lot of thoughts on that subject , hoping to be able to aford it sometime soon .

I have one of the lovely aluminum trays I purchased from you, a bottle of Agent Provocateur perfume, a Tyler candle in 24/7 Glam and my wedding rings (only because I am painting today and don't want paint on my rings!)

We are SO girlie!!!

Love,

HI Sissie! I loved seeing my vanity here in such great company~I am going to add a gold filigree vanity tray to my shop and one of those tri-fold gilded mirrors that would make any vanity sparkle!
I hope to be back in my bathroom doing some more work~I love all the glittery venetian mirrors you use~I think they are ideal! Your sister has a fun way to display her things so she can always enjoy them~I love my vanity table, and am so glad I added one!

You never disappoint with eye candy! Your vanity is filled with gorgeousness. I don't have photo's on my vanity, but, you have convinced me to add them. I want to smile as I put on my make up. It is such a luxury to sit, I stood for years in front of the bathroom mirror

I have my vanity filled with a bit of old and a bit of new...I do keep my old perfume bottles-as much for the shape and memories as anything. Gotta love Liz's vanity. She was a beautiful woman~ xo Diana

So pretty Sissie...I especially love the photos of your mom and sisters on your vanity, makes it more special to look at them every day, I'm sure. I love my vanity. Its small but I have all of my perfumes and jewlery there. When you're married and have a few children, you need your own little space to sit and feel pretty ;) Great post!

Oh, Sissy! You have sent me spiraling into the past. You have such a way with words!

Such pretty pretties... I've never sat at a beautiful vanity to apply my make-up...but, oooooh does that sound inviting. My routine consists of standing in the bathroom with great lighting and mirrors that reflect every darn wrinkle...oh my, that doesn't sound very good, does it? I've had some lovely vanities in days gone by, but as my style has changed so have they. I LOVE LOVE the look of yours..so beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend.. xoso Sandy

Your sister Kim and I share a passion...covering the entire surface with bling. I know there's marble on that dresser, but beats me the last time it got dusted!
What's makeup? LOL! Just kidding...that I keep hidden in the drawer.

I love your vanity area, Sissie! It is so pretty and I can imagine you sitting there getting ready for your day.

Sissy,

My vanity is right at the bathroom sink, and looks like a science experiment is going on... it's a mess... i have 2 mirrors, one 10X for the serious stuff, like chin hairs, and one 5X for the regular putting on makeup stuff... then a drawer under it that looks like it belongs to a makeup hoarder. I don't even know what to do about that, cause i keep finding these cool lipstick colors that i think i like until i see them in bright daylight...
Yours and your sister's is beautiful and Amy's too! I love the mirrors... !
Alright,... NOW i have to go be OCD and clean up my makeup space!, and that awful drawer and make it look ladylike and pretty and sparkly like you guys!

Hi, Sissy! What a cute post. Loved seeing the vanities filled with lovely things. I'm always tempted to keep the pretty perfume bottles but I end up getting rid of them eventually. Just can't keep them all no matter how tempted.

Hi Sissie,
First of all I think your sister Kim rocks with all of that gorgeous jewelry! I dream of having a beautiful, tidy vanity, but I'm afraid it's rather a mess with everything I use on a daily basis.

What gorgeous photos! Sadly, I don't have a vanity in my bedroom. All my makeup, etc. is in the bathroom. When I was a little girl I had a small vanity that my older brother built...I felt so special. I remember I had this sweet little bench to sit in front of it. Sure wish I had them today.

I wish you a wonderful week-end-

Truth be told, it looks like a riot right now! I keep thinking I need to get in there and clean and straighten up and organize! Yours looks so pretty! Mine is on top of my dresser where I keep all of my jewelry and colognes but I actually put makeup on and do my hair in the bathroom where the light is better....I need light!~Hugs, Patti

Hi Sweet Sissie! My cousin is Sissy too! She is a nut! She made the mistake of telling her mom she would go to church with her if the Broncos stayed in the playoffs! Boy did she have to dig in the closet for those church clothes! Ha Ha!
I love your frilly girlie things here! Had to come say hello!
I saw you t Linda's ALC and you mentioned the Campbells Soup cookbook! I won one in a contect when I was a young bride! Hee Hee! Still have it!
Love seeing all your pretties here.

What lovely photos. Wasn't Elizabeth so beautiful.

I don't have a vanity. I put my make up on in the bathroom in front of the mirror. I'm usually in such a rush going to work no way to sit down and do make up.

I have some old make up bottles of my mom's and grandmother's on the dresser in my bedroom. Also have my mom's jewelry box.

I do have a place I can put a vanity-some day.

Hi Sissieness! Oh, how fancy! I love the snap of Elizabeth and her vanity. The others not too shabby either. A fancy vanity is just so feminine. Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,

My vanity is in the bathroom. I do have a bench that I sit on. I have a small oval silver tray that holds perfume, but most everything else is very utilitarian. :( Yours looks so lovely. So feminine and elegant!

Wow these are some great vanities. I have to say I have a little bit past and present on mine but it is not near as pretty as these.
So glad to hear from you tonight. I am trying so hard to catch up with blogging buddies tonight to.

My vanity is just the bathroom vanity. It's not near as glamorous as the ones you posted. I'm a little jealous, yours is so lovely!

Stop by and visit sometime, I'm new to your lovely blog.

oh Sissy! I don't even have a vanity..just my dresser and I am afraid it's crowed with all sorts of things..and nothing at all like yours. I once had a neighbor woman who had one when I was a teenager and my favorite thing to do was watch her putting on her makeup to go out in the evening when I baby sat for her. I always wanted one..but it isn't to be. :)
Wasn't Liz Tayor just gorgeous??!!
