Will it ever be finished??????

Will it ever be finished???????  Our master bathroom has been in construction for over six weeks and we are really getting tired of all the mess.  The guy tiling the shower decided that deer hunting was much more important than getting the job done and just dropped everything.  A job that should have taken only a week, has now taken him nearly three weeks.  The contractor has now fired him and they are bringing in another guy to finish the job!  I'm ready to pull my hair out!!!  Can you relate?

Oh well, enough griping already.  Would you like to see a small portion of what's been done....
I have been playing around with a few accessories for the vanities.
These cabinets came from HomeDepot and I love the large wide bottom drawer.  The tops are custom made marble and all the fixtures are silver chrome.

The door in between the two vanities leads to the master closet.  The mirrors are also from HomeDepot as are the vanity lights.
I found this little stand at the flea market and decided it was perfect for this space underneath the window.  It was dark brown and I painted it Behr's creamy white.
One of these days, hopefully soon....I'll be able to show you the entire room.  As of today the tile guy plans to be here on Monday to finish the job....here's hoping it happens.  The carpet is scheduled for Wed. and then we can move back into our bedroom.....yeah!!!!

Then the first of December we are heading south to Ocean Isle Beach to stay through the end of January.  Or at least Mr. Sissie will be staying that long.  I'll be driving back and forth but I am looking forward to getting away for awhile.  It's been a tough three months but we are slowing getting it together.
Talk to y'all soon.

It's looking just beautiful, Sissie! I love the bottom drawer of the vanity too, I've not seen one quite like it before. Let's hope the new guy isn't into deer hunting!!!

How awful for that guy to think hunting is more important. Glad your contractor fired him. Can't wait to see it finished. Is that a pool outside?

Looking good Sissie! I know how frustrating it can be when your told one thing and it turns out to be a much longer process! Glad they fired him! Can't wait to see the full reveal!

Oh- I can so relate, Sissie. We have been through a total of 14 remodels so I think I have seen it all. My best was the drunken plumber that smashed a hole in the side of the jetted tub and then laid a towel over the edge so we wouldn't notice...plus he crimped the inflow pipe and the water TRICKLED out. Now THAT was cute! It will soon be done and you will laugh as some of these memories.....or....maybe not.

I love your choices. I think HD has a lot of good options to pick from. You are doing a wonderful job selecting items- xo Diana

Hang in there! It's looking great so far. It took two months for our master bathroom shower to get repaired and re-tiled so I know your pain! It's worth it in the end but hard to get through!

Wow it is looking so pretty, sorry to hear of the slow pace and the loser that the GC had to fire. Enjoy your florida escape, but I know you want to set up your new home!

It looks gorgeous so far! I've never had a remodel yet that didn't take forever. Most workmen seem to work at their own pace. Including my own hubby!

All I have to say Sissie is "Welcome to WV" ...Wild, Wonderful and totally laid back!lol I have had to become more patient since living here but geez 6 weeks is ridiculous!

Your bathroom is just beautiful and so fresh as is the rest of your home (always has been). I can't wait to see everything completed in your new space.

Sincerely, Jeannette

That must be endlessly frustrating! What you have finished looks just beautiful! You seem to get a lot of great light in your bathroom. cute little table too, funny, every time I see furniture now i think, oh what color would I paint that!

I'm so sorry it has taken so long but what's been completed is beautiful!!! And I can relate about tile installers. We've been waiting over 2 years to find someone in our rural area who is willing to put in our backsplash since it's a little unusual...sigh!
