Deneen's Angel Wings

Hi Sweet peas!  I've taken a little break from the house remodeling and the bathroom that WILL NEVER BE FINISHED!!!!!
It was supposed to be finished on Friday and they ran out of tile.  It was ordered and the delivery driver forgot to unload one of the boxes and couldn't make it back until late evening. Wait...there's more...  the "fired deer hunting tile guy" ran over a whole box and crushed the tile which is why we were short!

We decided a get-away was in order so we are now back down south staying in a condo enjoying some peace and quiet.  Mr. Sissie plans to stay here for a few months so he can golf.  I'll be  heading home shortly to face the continuing saga of the unfinished bathroom!

In the meantime I decided I needed a project so I borrowed the Angel Wing project from Deneen at Dreaming in Color.  I needed something to keep me busy while staying in this condo.  A girl can only do so much shopping and I did plenty of that!
Deneen didn't mind if I copied hers so I decided to give it a try.
You can go to her blog and see her instructions on how to create this project.  It's beautiful!

You'll need this and a pair of scissors.....sink mat from Dollar Store and two packages of 160 count coffee filters.  It took one and a half packages to make this one.

Deneen said to cut the mat in the shape you want and start filling up the squares with coffee filters.

Found the little bling pin at the thrift store for 50cents...

I love it....easy, peasy, but a little time consuming.  I'm in the middle of making another one.  I think making these could be addicting.

In the meantime I hope you all get out there this weekend and find, create, sew, bake, photograph, write and do whatever your passion might be.  Also if you find something wonderful be sure and share it with all of us

I'm joining the fun at Coastal Charm's Nifty Thrifty Tuesdays!!!

                                             ~~hugs~~

Sissie, those angel wings are adorable and I like the bling in the center. Thanks for stopping by and more importantly, thank you for praying for my boy. It was a four hour surgery and we're still waiting to hear the results. Hope it's good! It's been a stressful day!

Blessings,
Sandi

Nice wings. That tile guy may need them if he doesn't get it in gear. I am hoping it all works out and works out soon. Smiles, Susie

Those are so pretty. Oh, no about the tile. Always something will go wrong. I had to laugh at you saying Mr. Sissie. That may be worse than Mr. Savvy!!

Very pretty, Sissie! I love all the angel wings I've been seeing. I saw someone made some out of paper plates! Sorry to hear about your bathroom saga. Hopefully, one day it will be a story to tell with a laugh.

Lovely, Sissie! Good luck with your bathroom. It's always like that with renovations, Sissie. It never, never goes as it should. Taking a break must have helped though. Sometimes just getting away from it all does the trick. You will feel so much more refreshed when you go back. Take care!

Oh my gosh! Those wings are so cute! I so want to make some now! That is too funny and ironic and awful about the deer hunting fired guy running over the box of tile... can you even believe that!!!?? I know it seems like it will all never be finished, but "this too shall pass" as my mom, or somebody, always says...
