Well like many of you I love to take something used and discarded and try to turn it into something of beauty or purpose. Such Is the case with an old wedding gown found at GW. It was a lovely dress but had lots of brown stains down the front. So, with trepidation I got out the scissors and started cutting away. Now mind you I didn't take this action lightly....I really hesitated cutting into it and I truly felt its pain. But once I made that first cut I realized I could do so much with the lace and beads. I snipped off this bow and left it in tack, so here's the result...
I had this plain chenille pillow and decided the bow was the perfect embellishment. It's perfect for a bedroom or it would make a festive Holiday pillow.
I guess my creative genes started buzzing so I slapped together this romantic floral arrangement. I found the angel container at the thrift store. I removed the lid so I could use it as a vase. It seemed perfect for these sparkly white roses and the snow covered faux branches.
It has gone to my booth and I'm hoping someone will love it.
I'm sure that the creative juices are flowing everywhere here in Blogland. I love looking at your blogs and marveling at your talents while at the same time being inspired to create!
So get out there this week and make, create, photograph, write, craft, bake, repurpose, paint and find something wonderful to share with all of us.

Both the bow and the floral arrangement are gorgeous, Sissie! Wish I could visit your booth. Enjoy the weekend.

Very pretty!!
I can just imagine how hard it must have been to cut into an actual wedding gown, Sissie, but it sounds like it was beyond being wearable clothing again. It sounds like you will be able to reinvent pieces of the fabric several times over. I love the bow. It looks great on your pillow.
Sissy,
I love both of your creations. I especially love the pillow....looks elegant.

So pretty...how many wedding gowns at Goodwill have I passed up??? Will look at them with different eyes now. :)
Hi, Sissie...hope all is good in your world. Haven't seen you in way too long.
Merriest Christmas, bj
I adore the white bridal gown bow. It reminds me of my own. I had a very large bow on the backside of my gown. I hope one of my daughters will wear it some day. It is still such a gorgeous wedding dress. Sigh
