Memories of Our Mother

Hi Bloggerettes!  Several years ago my Mother and two sisters took a trip to Myrtle Beach.  We stayed in a lovely beach condo that was super luxurious.  We had such a wonderful time, laughing, talking, shopping, crying, eating!!!
Unbeknown to us, this would be the last trip that the four of us would make together as Mother and daughters.  Our Mom passed away in August of 2007 and we miss her so very much.

No cards or flowers will be bought for Mother's Day.  But we will hold wonderful and precious memories in our hearts and always remember her as our beautiful Mom.

I sketched this drawing of the four of us at the beach.  Left to right; Me, the chunkiest of the four, my baby sister, Kim....the prissiest one, Marsha, the sassy one and our Mother, the one that put up with all three of us under the same roof.  What a saint.

This isn't a very good photo, just a small snapshot that I keep in a frame as a reminder of our "girls only" trip to the beach. We had just finished having dinner on the marina.  The waiter was smitten with our Mother and he showered her with compliments.   We never heard the end of it!!

I can still see her sitting at the dining room table. She was wearing her animal print pajamas and robe and having her morning coffee, smiling and chatting away.  So happy that she had her three daughters all to herself.

Happy Mother's Day Mother!
from your loving daughters

Happy Mother's Day to everyone, may your day be filled with joy and laughter and family.

~~hugs~~
Sissie

I too will be missing my mom this year. She has been gone for two years now and she is greatly missed. I will hold onto the wonderful memories and love to share them with the kids. We talk about our "Bushie Moments" all of the time.
Your girls weekend sounds wonderful and the sketch is too! xoxo

Very sweet post...You are lucky to have had such a sweet mother and I am, too. I often wish that we had had an "alone" sort of trip before she passed away. Your pictures are beautiful and I love your sketch. Happy Mother's Day, sweet lady!

What more could a mother ask for, Sissie. To have her grown children all to herself like that. I love your sketch of the four of you and that you have it framed.

Well Sissie, I have been saying we were sisters separated at birth! We live parallel lives I guess...I have two sisters and all three of us would take special mother daughter trips to fun places. Oh the memories you can make on a trip like that! Your sketch is priceless!

HOw wonderful! I too have 3 daughters and had the opportunity to have them all to myself several years ago. I knew at the time that it was likely to be the one and only time that it would be just us and I savored it. As I am sure your mom did.
