Altered Ice Skates

I've been so excited to show you my altered ice skates.  I found them in another booth and they were all dirty with mildew and yuck.  However, they had potential.

I painted them with American Chalk Paint, sprinkled on the glitter, added ribbon for the laces and then embellished and stuffed the insides with pine and pretties...

What do you think?

I took them to my booth and they sold the next day.  Darn, I really wanted them to stay around a little longer because they made my booth look so good!

Very pretty, Sissie! I love the glitter on them. I just did up a pair I found over the Summer the other day. Small amount of glitter added to my blades and I was just glad to get some faux fur on them. I want to change out the shoelaces to red ones so I'll be looking around the house. I'm sure we've got some somewhere!

It always seems like the things I really love in my booth are the fastest to sell . So I know where you are coming from .

Very pretty and festive laces!
Isn't that they way it goes - the things you wish could stay and be enjoyed are the first to sell.

Sissie, those skates are so pretty. I found a pair last year and I still don't have them made over. I think I've been putting it off because I couldn't decide whether or not to glitter them. After seeing yours, I believe I will! Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday.

Christmas blessings and hugs,
Sandi
