Okay, try not to gasp or shake your head...as in she's lost her mind and what was she thinking. I really did add gold to my décor! Why, you ask. Just a few years ago I would never, ever considered it. But for some reason I am now liking the look.
It all started with this narrow wall in the entryway. The two oval mirrors were thrift store finds. I planned to paint them white but decided they were pretty just as they were. I added the gold frame from Hobby Lobby. I also dabbed on some metallic gold paint.
Next came this corner in the great room. I just couldn't get it right. I kept changing out the tables, chairs, lamps, pillows and still didn't like it. I know you've been there. So I had a light bulb moment!
A customer brought me this huge gold frame and when I leaned it on the table I liked the look. So it grew from there.
I brought the gold toile pillows out of the closet and added one to the wingback chair. So for now, I'm liking the look. Who knows though....everything might be painted white by next week!
How about you. Are you loving gold again or have you always loved it????
~~hugs~~

Sissie, I adore the frame in the first photo. I like old gold frames, very much. They just look so rich. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

The frames are beautiful gold. I have been liking it too, but I always have liked a touch of it. I bought two tiny copper toned frames that only lasted a few days before I whitewashed them. But I did it lightly so some copper is still visible. I continue to always return to whitewash, greys and winter sea blues.
Hi Sissie, I love your gold frames its a nice contrast to all the white...I love gold frames and have always love gold touches around my home ;-)

Sissie,
Gasp!!! I'm liking gold too! It all started with my Hollywood Regency bedroom. I now plan on bringing it out to the living room. I think it started for me with Downton Abby!

Happy New Year Sissie! Your gold touches look lovely in your home.
Sissie I love the gold pieces you added...I've been adding pieces to my collection too.
Everything looks gorgeous, Sissie. I started to notice more gold pieces here and there shortly after my stylish daughter stated to buy gold tone jewelry. Could this be related? Anyway...how is it to paint with gold? Just wondering. It looks so pretty in your home...I'm inspired!

Sissie,
Happy New Year to you!!
I never got rid of my golds, I always loved it and I knew it would come back in style again just like I see a bit of a comeback in stained wood over painted wood.......

So pretty, Sissie! I've been one of those who have always loved it. I've always had gold in my master bedrooms (and still do). Then I found that great old round mirror at an estate sale last year for my dining room so that brought gold into another room. I don't like super shiny gold, but more of an antique, faded look to it.
Hey Gold is coming back and all the rage from what I am seeing in blog land. Yours is so pretty. Hey my take on decor is surround yourself with what you love and makes you happy and it is perfect. Yours looks beautiful.

Happy new year! I've always liked gold but I notice I can only use it in small doses. =)

Your frames are just beautiful, Sissie! I go thru phases, for the past several years, its been silver and cream. I was in a green phase before that, and gold too!
I think these touches of gold look stunning with all your white. You're doing gold right!

Sissie, I was going to post about how all of as sudden I see gold accessories and jewelry everywhere! It's popular to mix metals now. You're right in style. Hugs!
Hi Sissie, I am seeing more gold and brass in design now. That will teach me not to paint every single piece. Love your frames.
Hugs,
Sherry
In My kitchen and all frames and mirrors are white however in my home office I have all gold mirrors and pictures frames hanging on one wall.
Yours of course looks beautiful
Happy New Year, Sissie! I was tempted to paint my gold frame mirror over the mantel and I had asked for advice at the time. I remember you had told me to leave it gold and now I'm glad I did because I have changed out my decor with more cream, tan, and gold tones. Looks great just the way it is. So, yes, I'm liking gold although I still like white too. Yours look wonderful!
Blessings,
Sandi
