You know how sometimes you change something in your home, but that little voice inside your already overcrowded head says, um, not sure about this?
I bought this vintage hutch with the intentions of painting it and selling it in my booth. I used Faux Real Mineral Paint in the color "cream," waxed it with dark brown and added some pretty knobs.
Then I remembered my collection of brown transfer ware that had no place to call home.
Of course that meant moving everything that used to be in this spot, including taking down the wall decor.
Now, after all the moving around I'm still not sure if I like it!
So, what's a blogger to do??? Just ask her blogger buds what they think, right? So, what do you think? Keep it, move it, sell it????

It is very pretty and the transferware is gorgeous but...it doesnt' say Sissie to me!
hugs,
Linda
I really like it and the brown really looks good in it. I would keep it.
I think if you remove the plates and go with just the other pieces it might lighten up and feel more like your own. After I live with something new for awhile it becoms clear to me if a piece is going to work out or not. It's just nice to spend time with something you admire and have spent time working on! Best of both worlds. Nice job!
Ohh... I like it very much and i will keep it. The brown transferware is just gorgeous

I agree with Linda. It is a beautiful piece and I love the transferware, but brown is not Sissie-style. The hutch in creamy white with one or two of the brown would be better.
It is a beautiful piece. I love the brown transfer ware on it. Just not sure it is your style. I guess you need to live with it for awhile to see if it feels right. It is gorgeous.

Sissie,
I love the dishes! I really do not think the cabinet is you. It looks too 1970's to me. I would sell it! But I do love your blog and you have great taste!
Blessings
Your home is lovely with whatever you decide to do. You may want to try just white and cream ironstone pieces on the buffet. White on white always brings calm.
I like it. I wouldn't have used the dark wax though. Hope that helps just a little.
*Smiles*
I like it! A lot. =)
