I know.  I know.  It's been a very, very long time since I've been on my blog.  My last post was about losing my Brother and to tell the truth my heart hasn't been right since.  I have missed you.  I'm sure that many of you have long forgotten about me so I'll just pick up and start again. I realize too that the "big time bloggers" have pretty much taken over and those of us "old schoolers" have questioned whether or not blogging is really worth it all.  Now it's all about Instagram and FB. Many have dropped out of the game for one reason or another, but I've decided to give it one more attempt.

I started my blog in August, 2009.  Yep, I was much younger then and that picture in the right hand corner is no longer relative!

Almost 10 years later, I'm older and clearly have a lot of history behind my ever spreading backside.  So I've decided to give you an update and spill a few things about myself (both good and bad) so as we might get re-acquainted.

I'm a Mom to an adult son with Crohn's disease.  He's what gets me up in the mornings and motivates me to be centered on someone in need instead of myself. It's a daily battle for us but my son is a true warrior and I'm willing to stand along side of him.  I'm also a Mom to two very smart kitty cats that are like children to me.

I'm married to an ex UPS manager whose been retired for 20 years! And yes it's true...."retirement is too much husband and a lot less paycheck!"  But, he still has those cute UPS legs.

I have lost 20 pounds and gained back 30 more times than I care to admit.

I've stopped coloring my hair because it's turning white on its own now.  I buy a lot of concealer and find myself using more every day.

I still bite my nails and own stock in the fake nail companies!

I once lived in a Chateau in Belgium.
I once wore tops that exposed my middle. And go go boots and hot pants!

I started writing a book but after 40 years it's still not done.

I get a little jealous of the young bloggers with perfect hair and skin, perfect children and perfect homes.

I love shopping and I'm guilty of going to Home Goods, Hobby Lobby and TJMaxx at least once a week!  Oh and then there are the thrift stores and antique shops.

I still have a shop space that is my greatest passion.

I once swallowed a diamond ring....we will leave it at that! LOL.

The only celebrities I ever met were Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Debbie Reynolds and Soupy Sales!

So, there you have it....my interesting exciting life.  I've sure missed all of you and I hope you haven't forgotten me.

                                          ~~hugs~~

Yay! so glad to see your post, Sissie! I started blogging again also. A few of our old friends from the beginning are still plugging away here. Even though I have very few responses to my posts, I have made up my mind to keep at it. It keeps me connected to those friends made from the old days. You are just as beautiful as ever! The photos of your home, and your shop were always an inspiration to me. Love your clean, fresh beachy style!!
Welcome back, my friend!

Hello, hello, hello Beautiful! As you know I never forgot you and I am beyond thrilled to see you again. Thanks for catching us up and know you are in good company when it comes to natural white hair, weight gain and dealing with children who deal with illness. Brava Ms. Sissy!

It's wonderful to see you back, pretty lady. I have looked for you often. And I love your description, it what makes you real and that is wonderful. And so relatable (sp). I just can't seem to get invested with all these perfect model moms with their perfect homes. It just isn't fun or enjoyable to me. I always wonder how much money do they spend on looking and living like that. lol

I love your light hair. I keep wishing for mine to turn more silver gray. It seems to be going a dark graying brown. Ugh!

Just please know there are those of us who have missed you and wondered how you were doing.

Welcome back, it's so good to see you again. I too stepped back from blogging and have decided to do a little this year. But, as you said - the blogging world has changed so much and so many friends have stepped away. I do miss them. I am so excited to see you come back as I love your style and your blog.

Dear Sissie, we have all missed you and we're so glad you're back! You are so sweet and your hair is very pretty! For the record, no one has the perfect life or home, or family. Very few of us have the perfect body after a certain age. It's hard work to stay in shape. So many bloggers are not being real because they are too uncomfortable, or too shy to talk about the real deal going on in their lives. It's safer to blog as though all is well. I know what it's like to lose a loved one. Over the past few years, my brother-in-law passed from lung cancer, my mother passed last August, and I haven't told anyone in Blogland yet, but my little brother was just diagnosed with lung cancer. He doesn't think he has very long. So, I know just how you feel. Somehow we put one foot in front of the other and we keep going. God bless you, Sissie, and welcome back! Big hugs...Sandi

I was coming over here last week and at long last yes! I am here! It is so good to see you here. My good friend once was in an exchange with you. I was so jealous. She received so many pretties from you. Made me think of sweet Miz Mollye. Oh that girl was my heart. She and I were like sisters from other sides of the country. I Miss her so very much.
Your shop is as beautiful as ever. I hope you are doing well and your loved ones too.
Please come back again when you can HUGS

Hi Sissy, I'm glad you decided to post again! I have missed ya!
I used to see you in the thrift store but I have moved back to Winston Salem area again and haven't been to the beach since we moved (2 yrs ago).
I may start my blog again, but I don't know if I have time...I am on fb and usually use it to keep up with my family and friends. You look like life is treating you good! soak up some of that OIB sun for me this summer and maybe we will see each other again this summer.
