Getting Inspired!

Hi Bloggerettes!  What's happening in your corner of the world?
Are you finding lots of good stuff?  Are you creating something beautiful?  Are you transforming something boring into a work of art?  Are you making a collage or painting? Are you taking photos of something we will ooh and awh over?  Well????

What would you do with this?  Ruffles and lace....ooh-la-la!!!
It's this......a gorgeous formal dress that I found at the thrift store for a few dollars.....

Oh how I wish I was the size zero.....I would wear this around the house!!!
I am thinking it will make a nice vanity table skirt???

Here's a wooden shelf that I painted white and shabbied a little.
It's hanging in my laundry room.  I love it.

I have a hard time passing up wooden shelves.  Here's another one in a corner of my laundry room....

Here's one I painted pink and it's over the sink in the
laundry room.....told you I couldn't pass them up.

Okay, this is enough about my stuff, I am going blog hopping to see what you have done and get inspired!
Oh how I love you all.....you keep me inspired....yes you do!

~~hugs~~

A vanity skirt sounds wonderful!! It amazes me when someone can look at something like a formal dress they don't need and see a vision of turning it into something else. The creativity in Blogland in never ending. I know you will do something very special with the dress.

Love your shelves too. What a nice way to pretty up a laundry room. That' some inspiration I can use! Thanks Sissie!

You could slipcover a chair with the dress. The bodice could go on the back and the bottom of the dress becomes the chairs skirt. You would need a chair with a pretty wood or cane back. Love the shelves.

I was thinking the same about the dress, or the edge on a table cloth. I love your shelves, I have some that I made that are more of a mantle shelf, just big enough to make a small vignette on. Have a wonderful day.

Those little shelves are great! I think they come in handy for so many areas where you can't put anything too big. The first picture, I was thinking, "I'd wear it", and then you said it was a dress! A vanity skirt sounds lovely or even a tablecloth skirt or how many pillows could you make out of that baby!

It's so funny that you posted about a vintage formal. My mom and dad just brought over a bunch of formals they found in the hall closet after cleaning it out! In it was my prom dress form my senior year, and a bridesmaid dress from my first wedding. Plus, A dress I wore in my sisters wedding in 1974, and 2 of my sisters dresses from prom. WOW! They are so tiny! And to think I thought I was fat back then!

Oooh, the dress is gorgeous! I wouldn't have the heart to cut it up, I think I would keep it as it is and just display it hanging from my wardrobe. Sigh, I never was a size 0, but I do remember being a size 4 ( size 8 UK ), I am afraid those days are gone though.

Sissie, that dress is gorgeous!!! It would make a great table skirt, but I would problaly have a hard time cutting something so beautiful, I've bought vintage clothing and vintage throws before just to cut up and make purses and pillows with, but I always find I have a hard time when it comes time to cut them, so I have many of them just stored in my work room. I know I'm a little goofy, after all that's what I bought them for, maybe one day I'll brake down and cut them and make something beautiful with them!!! Blessings~~~ Daphne
